Pride! And God Nays that He hates it! The Scripture says He hath scattered the proud and the imaginations of their hearts He hath put down the mighty from their seats and exalted them of low degree God Loves Humility God loves humility more than any other characteristic That and love and they go together Luke 11:43: "Woe unto you Pharisees! for you love the uppermost seats in the synagog'' and greetings in the markets" I Cor 1:29: "No flesh should glory in ihis presence Wherefore let him that he thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall" And the Bible warns that judgment is going to come against the proud Listen to this! He humbled himself Ladies and gentlemen mark it down in your little books that before you ever get into the kingdom you've got to humble yourself until you're ready to do anything for Christ You're ready to take the smallest job in the church You're ready to take the Insignificant place You're ready never to be recognized Never to be seen Never to be heard But to work faithfully for Christ as under Him in the humblest plate Pride is deceptive and I read in the Bible that all men are proud I read in the Bible that there is a little dictator down in everyone of us I read that in the Bible there is pride in the hearts of all of us that it was the original sin and that it is the sin thnt is keeping men from heaven I beg of you tonight if self-righteousness your own self esteem and pride are keeping you from the kingdom that you'll humble yourself and come to the Saviour who humbled Himself to tbe death of the Cross And find Him tonight Your sin may not be the worst sin but your sin is that subtle 'little sin called pride that in the sight of God is so big You say "Well Billy why can God hate pride so much?
