Almost every one has come to believe that spring is a season that brings derangements of the body dependent on blood impurities. This belief is an old one, is nearly uni-Tersal, and has arisen, not as the result of the teachings of the medical fraternity, but has been learned in the bitter achool of experience. Nervous Depression. Depression of the nervous system at the approach of spring is a fertile source of blood impurities. There are general heavy consations, continual tired feelings, with Irregular appetite, and sometimes loss of sleep.

That Tired Feeling. That tired feeling, which is the nat-tirai result of the depressing effect of warm weather immediately after the invigorating cold of winter, quickly disappears when Peruna is taken, Mrs. Winnifred Power, an artist, who, in a recent letter from 216 7th Portland, says am pleased to speak a good word for Peruna, as I found it an excellent tonic and spring medicine and very effective In ridding the system of cold and catarrh. "About two years ago my system was all run down in the spring and I thought I would try and see if Peruna would be of any assistance in bringing back my health and strength. "I found that it waa splendid and all the medicine that I needed.

In a little over a month I was well and did not need to take any more medicine. "I shall recommend it to every one in need of a tonic, and kaow that 1 have only to take a few doses of Peruna when I take a cold and I will soon be over it." Winnifred Power. Nature's Assistance. Spring is the best time to treat catarrh. Nature renews herself every spring.

The system is rejuvenated by spring weather. This renders medi- cines more effective. A short course of Peruna, assisted by the balmy air of spring, will cure old, stubborn cases of catarrh that have resisted treatment for years. A Word of Advice. To those who have been afflicted with chronic catarrh we wish to say that the spring season affords you a splendid opportunity to get rid of your disease.

It may be you have been afflicted for several years; you may have tried different remedies. Pezhaps you have be come discouraged. Now Is Your Opportunity. This failure was during the winter months. But now is your opportunity.

Nature comes to your assistance at this season. Just help her a little and she will bring you out of the quagmire in which you have been floundering so long. Give Nature a little assistance lest her struggles be in vain. Is fiie Best la lite mm It grows harder with age and is absolutely indestructible. Geo, M. Fillmore, late 1st Lieut. 8rd U. S.

Artillery, writes from 909 Li N. Washington, D. as follows: "I brought forward from winter Into spring a sickening case of catarrh which was making existence miserable for me, until I was induced to try a bottle of Peruna. 44 An immediate improvement gave me hope, if not relief. I kept up taking Peruna and it hag so strengthened and relieved me that I am now confident of a cure.

I heartily endorse Peruna for catarrhal affections and as a tonic for their weakening effects." Geo. M. Fillmore. A short course of Peruna now will be Just in time. During the month of April you will find the strategic time to rid yourself of chronic catarrh, one of the most persistent, stubborn diseases in the whole list of human ailments.

After you have tried it you will say Peruna is positively the best spring medicine you have ever used. 1 Vegetable Prcpp.ralbrifcrAs- liiig the Sfcaaicis aid id rromolcs am! neillicr nor 2'Iineral. m. 0 A Lawrence man who is taller than the common run of men has. a knock on the way people trim their trees or fail to trim their trees. He says the trees on the side streets are low and in several places are a nuisance all the time. In other places they do not interfere with pedestrians just after a rain when they droop over" the sidewalks and the moisture soak ed foliage sheds dampness over the visage of the person who tries to walk under it.

If the citizens will not trim their trees he would like to have them dig a ditch for tall men to walk in. 0 Hard to Keep Students. While hundreds of former students come back to commencement, it. is a fact that only about one-fourth of the students remain for the exercises. The graduates have to remain and they lose a good deal of the glamor by knowing that all of their friends have deserted them and left them to tread the way to the glory of the sheepskin alone.

Each year things are provided to hold the students, but they get restless and leave. This year will be no exception. The student body is restless now and anxious to be gone. Kansas university defeated the Kansas State normal in a short and decisive game of base ball on Me Cook's field yesterday afternoon, the score being 4 to 0. The Proper Remedy.

Peruna meets every indication and proves Itself to be perfectly adapted to all their varied peculiarities. Peruna invigorates the system, rejuvenates the feelings, restores the normal appetite and procures regular sleep. Do Not Delay. Get a bottle of Peruna when the first languid feelings make themselves apparent in the spring. Take it according to the directions on the bottle.

Continue this treatment through the first months of spring. This course of treatment is no experiment; it is as positive in its results as any fact of science can be. A Spring Tonic. Almost everybody needs a tonic in the spring. Something to brace the nerves, invigorate the brain, and cleanse the blood.

About Reporting News. Many good items are lost to the newspapers by the modesty of the people who hesitate to tell of matters concerning themselves; not that they don't want them to appear in print, but, they are afraid they would be pushing themselves forward. This is a wrong idea. From a reportorial standpoint the man who will stop a newspaper reporter on the street and tell that he has been to Kansas City or some other city, that he is going to get married or that his wife entertained relatives from a distance, is the best person alive. If you have done anything mean or disreputable it is not necessary to tell it, for there are always, plenty of people who will do that for you.

But tell all of the good things, for those are what COUilt, You can take a Mandt wagon and haul sand with it for three months and not a grain will find its way into the axle. It is the way the wagon is built. Bell Bell will be pleased to tell you of other points of superiority. Frank Lee, who had a mixup at Chip Smith's place in North Lawrence last year, has completed hi9 sentence of six months for shooting with intent to kill, and was released from custody yesterday. He had worked out the fine.

The Japanese fever has struck the High school. Every production on the commencement program is about Japan. The Church of God and the Saints of Jesus Christ believe in inter-marriage of the races. In Emporia the first marriage of this kind has just been celebrated. Every Heart-Ache Every pain in the breast, difficult breathing1, palpitation, fluttering or dizzy spell means that your heart is straining itself in its effort to keep in motion.

This is dangerous. Some sudden strain from overexertion or excitement will1 completely exhaust the nerves, or rupture the walls or arteries of the heart, and it will stop. Relieve this terrible strain at once with Dr. Miles' Heart Cure. It invigorates and strengthens the heart nerves and muscles, stimulates the heart action, and relieves the pain and misery.

Take no chances make your heart strong and vigorous with Dr. Miles' Heart Cure. "I suffered terribly with heart disease. I have been treated by different physicians for my trouble without results. I went to a physician in Memphis, who claimed that I had dropsy of the heart.
