RUSSELL Gordon Scott has been signed to star in the title role of the Joseph E. Levine- Embassy Pictures' new television series.

The pilot program in the series of one-hour shows, with an overall budget of $6,000,000 went be- ore the cameras last Filming, in color, will be on location in Rome and in Yugoslavia. Albert Band will produce he series and direct the "pilot" show. The series is targeted for elecasting in 1965 over ABC-TV. Scott, who will portray the egendary hero, "Hercules," in adventure spectacle series, has previously starred in a number of Tarzan feature films, including "Tarzan the Magnificent," "Tarzan's Greatest Adventure" and "Tarzan's Hidden Jungle." Other castings include Paul Stevens, portraying Diogenes; Mart Hulswit as Ulysses; ind in the "pilot" Him. PARK CONCERT For the sixth consecutive year WNBC-TV will offer audiences a sampling of the Monday night concerts by the Washington Square Chamber orchetsra, in a special program on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock on Channel 4.

The orchestra performs every Washington Square Park. The television performance will offer Joseph Haydn's "Symphony No. 83" (first, third and fourth movements); the "Alleluia" from Mozart's "Exultate, Jubilate," with soprano Veronica Tyler; and the first and third movements of the "Concerto for Wind Quintet," by Vittorio Rioti. Sunday's concert will pre-empt the regularly scheduled "Recital Hall." RIBICOFF IS GUEST Senator Abraham Ribicoff (D- Conn.) will be the guest of Sena- tor Kenneth B. Keiting of New York on Channel 9's "Senate News Conference" Sunday morning at 10:15 o'clock.
