'Olin Bell. Tin Beauty of xh.t Millinery Displayed it Sliearer'i today Draw a Large Numbsr of Lawrence and Oat ox Town Ladies. Last spring the millinery opening at Shearer's was the cause for remark upon account of its magoificence and the opening today has been pro nounced even better than that. The second flior is beautifnlly trim med with harmonlz ng colors, artis tlcally arranged, atd a large number of palms add beauty to the scene. There are a large number of pattern hats shown and they are of special beauty.

There seems to be some thing entirely new in arrangement this fall and the new hats in PeaTl Gray, Royal Blue, Castor and black are wondeiful creations. Another arrangement that is proving very popular is made of the breasts of sea gulls. One beautiful creation made in this manner with a collarette to match was immediately sold to a popular Lawrence lady. The cases and tables are filled with hats, but they are so arranged that they do not have the effect of crowding and therefore show up to much better advantage. Toe store was well filled today and -the number of hats sold was much larger than is generally expecced upon opening daye.

From the stock shown one thing is certain and that is that the Stoearer millinery department will keep up and add to the excellent reputation that they gained Inst spring. Lniner Confesses.
