Becking to have the Court RECOUNT IS OUT IN WESTPORT WESTPORT--Plans have been dropped for recount of the vote cast in the Democratic primary over congressional delegates here Tuesday when the Town committee slate lost by a three vote margin. A recount had been asked Wednesday by Richard Goldhurst, a member of the defeated slate which had poiled 471 votes in its support for Congressman Donald J. Irwin. The opposition slate which received 474 votes was headed by Richard Bodkin and was committed to Dr.

John E. Fitzgerald, a candidate who is opposing the administration's policies in Viet Nam. Mr. Goldhurst said today that party officials decided not to the tally because they believe the close margin accurately reflected the division of Westport Democrats on the Congressional issue. He noted that when the Town committee voted on the endorse ment of congressional delegates several weeks ago, the ballot was split equally between the supporters of Congressman Invin and Dr.

Fitzgerald, and that Christopher Dunham, town chairman, broke the 15-15 tie vote. Mr. Goldhurst said he believed the outcome of the primary demonstrated the actual opinion of Westport Democrats. The decision to drop pjans for a recount was announced on the deadline for challenging the votes OBITUARIES George A. Baldwin Services for George A.
