A. Smith Southport Girl Married Air Force Officer on Friday Miss Catherine Carter Munnell, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Equinn W. Munnell of Pequot road, Southport and New York city was married Friday afternoon to First Lieut.

Richard A i Smith, USAF, son of Mr. Mrs. Smith of Port Washington, L. I. and Noank.

The ceremony was solemnized in Calvary Episcopal church. New York, by the Rev. Albert B. Buchanan and was followed by a reception at the Colony club in New York. Dr.

Munnell gave his daughter In marriage. She was gowned in Ivory pcau de soie and Alencon lace, designed with a round neckline, elbow length sleeves and train. She wore a short tulle veil arranged from a headdress nf peau de soie and carried a bouquet of white roses, baby's breath and i i a ivy. Miss Elizabeth Hamilton Munnell was maid of honor for sister and Mrs. Thomas C.

Munnell served as matron of honor. Her other attendants were Mrs. J. Richard Stoltz, Miss Lowell Belin and Miss Lynn Dixon. Roderick S.

Smith was best man for his brother and the usher corps included the i e'a brother Thomas C. Munnell, Roger L. Baum. Peter V. Fish, Russell M.

Griffin and Samuel G. Mygatt. The bride, an alumna of th Chapin school and Wellesley college, is a senior art editor at Harcourt, Brace and World, Inc. was presented in 1960 at. the Junior League Debutante ball and a -member of the Junior 'League of New York, i Mrs.

Smith is a granddaughter of Mrs. William Monroe Clark of Orlando, Fla. and the late Dr. Clark and of Mrs. William H.

Mu.nnel.rdf New York and the late Mr. Munnell. Smith is an alumnus of the -Choale school, Wallingford and Trinity college. Hartford, where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon. grandson of Mrs.
