CHILE VOLCANO BEGINS TO QUIET TEMUCO, Chile, March 4 (AP) Villarrica volcano in southern Chile seemed lo be calming down today, and some the 30.000 persons routed by its eruptions were returning home. But for Ihe villagers of Com ripe, hardest hit by Villarrica's fury, Ihere were only mud-covered ruins of what had been a scenic spot in this Andean resort area. Kassim was graduated from the Royal College of Medicine Ihere in 1947. He practiced in Baghdad five years before coming lo this country in 1953 lo attend Harvard Medical school, where he obtained his master's degree in public hcallh. Dr. Kassim then did a year of post-graduate work in pediatrics at the Great Ormond Hospital for Sick Children, London, England. Returning to (he United States, he was with the Children's Medical Center, Boston, eight years.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1958, Dr Kassim had a residency in this Field at the Boston center ant later engaged in research Ihere. Mrs Kassim, the former May A. Kaftan, of Baghdad, receiver ner Ph.D. in astronomy from Sadcliffe college, Cambridge, having obtained a mas- cr's degree in physics and mathematics from the University of Manchester, England.
