Christmas poems were presented by Mrs. Chleo Deshler Goodman and the program closed with additional cello selections by Mrs. Wood, and with Mrs. Gaston accompanist. Members responded to roll call with Christmas thoufihts and Mrs.

Fred Plant, president, was in charge of business. The social committee assisting the hostesses included Mrs. W. O. McDonald.

Purity Council 7. Daughters of America, will meet Tuesday nighl in the Odd Fellows Temple, A general meeting of the WSCS of the Orchard Grove Community Methodist Church will be held Tuesday night. Court Dunne 937. Catholic Daughters of America, will hold a social meeting night in St. School Hall.

Mrs. Dorothy Cloran will be chairman and Mrs. Helen Probst co-chairman. Others on the committee will be Mrs. Lillian Gebauer, Mrs.

Rose Gerace, Mrs. Marie Hughes. Mrs. Elizabeth Jackson, Mrs. Audrey Newtz, Mrs.

Sara Parr, Mrs. Dorothy and Mrs. Carrie Tychonievich. Miss Harriett Whealdon recited Night Before at the family Yuletide party Wednesday night arranged by Pennova Lodge 880 and Ohio City Rebekah Lodge 782 in the Odd Fellows Hall, East End. A vocal solo was presented by Linda Kay Tucker and a vocal trio, including Adell and Gaynell Davis and Nedrajean Baldwin, sang They were accompanied by Mrs.

Theda Smith. Billy Bishop gave a violin solo. Carol singing was led by Barney Fickle, with Mrs. Ruth Tucker accompanist. About 100 were present.

A decorated lighted tree and lighted cross with streamers and bells formed the holiday trimmings in the hall. George Circle was master of ceremonies and introduced the Rev. T. Victor Scott, who related a Christmas story. Gifts and treats were distributed by Santa Claus.

Lunch was served by Mrs. Belva Smith, Mrs. Lula Huffman, Mrs. Eva Tucker, Mrs. Jane Pretty and Mrs.

Essie Bole. Clarence Smith, Bernard Arnold and Circle served on the committee. XXX Members of Brownie Troop 13 of McKinley School made gifts for their parents at the Christmas party Wednesday after school. Hanging ivy bowls were presents for their mothers and memo pads for fathers. Forty were present.

Games were featured. The troop wdll go caroling Wednesday night at 6:30, meeting at the school. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Carl Silverthorn, leader, and Mrs. Jay Nuzum, Mrs.

Jay Springer, Mrs. George Heddleston and Mrs. John Hindman, co-leaders. XXX Members of the Coterie Club exchanged handmade gifts at their meeting Wednesday night with Mrs. Glen Wilson of Vine St.

Keep was the program by Mrs. W. Clare Manypenny, program chairman, and Mrs. John Weitzel led group singing of carols. Miss Dorothy Leigh, president, conducted brief business.

Decorations throughout the home followed the Yuletide theme and a green cloth and red roses and lighted red tapers completed the holiday setting for the table. Miniature Christmas trees were favors. RefreshmenLs were served 24 by the hostess and a committee including Mrs. Sarah Jenkins, Miss Alice Peddicord and Mrs. Mildred Sauerbrei.

The group will meet Jan. 12 with Mrs. William C. Laight. 1100 Pennsylvania Ave.

Miss Eleanor Jane Bennett will be co-hostess. Mi.s.< Ann Fel'ouzis was elected president of Greek social club, Wednesday night at a meeting in her home at 121 W. 4th St. Others named were Mrs. Caliape Galas, secretary, and Miss Roxie Markanton, treasurer.

Plans were made for a New Dance Jan. 2 and the officers will be in charge. I A business meeting is scheduled for January. Refreshmenl.s were served 15 by the hostess. XXX I Christmas readings were featured I at the meeting of the Mizpah Class of the First Church of the Naza; rene Wednesday night in the activity room.

Durbin, Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Cunningham. Mrs. Sanford will be program leader for 'he meeting Jan.

18 with Miss Mary Wolfe, 816 St. Clair Ave. A 12 luncheon Wednesday afternoon highlighted the Christmas party for the Duplicate Bridge Group at the Country Club. Red carnations, red lighted tapers in silver candelabra and arrangements of pine and evergreen reflected the Yuletide season in table decorations. A gift exchange followed.

Five tables were in play, with high honors won by Mrs. Richard Crable and Mrs. Lawrence Sixt, second. Mrs. David W.

Mayers and Mrs. George Mueller and third, Mrs. Jack Davies and Mrs. John Mountford. The group will resume play Jan.

5. XXX Miniature Christmas corsages were presented officers of the Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 66 by their president. Miss Betty Smith, at the 6:30 cov- erdish dinner Wednesday night. Red candles and an arrangement of holly formed the Yuletide setting for the table. Twenty were present.

Gifts were exchanged and carol singing featured. A letter of thanks was read during business, n- ducted by Miss Smith, for the $100 check sent the Soldiers and Sailors Hfime at Sandusky for a Christmas treat for the veterans. Cards followed. The next meeting will be Dec. 29.

Mrs. Marcella Heckathorn was elected president of the MNI Club at the Christmas dinner Wednesday night at Tea Room. Others named at the 6:30 o'clock affair were Mrs. Virginia Salisbury, treasurer, and Mrs. Gloria Lynch, reporter.

A Christmas tree and other seasonal novelties were used as decorations.
