Kcnnetn S. Todd DANBURY. Feb. 21-Services for Kenneth Stanley Todd, 54, of Woodbridge. formerly of Danbury, who died Monday, will take place in Woodbridge, and burial will be 'in Arlington National cemetery.

Mr. Todd was born in West Redding, graduated from Danbury high school in 1925 and two years later received an appointment as a midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy. After leaving the Naval service, he returned to Danbury and was employed in the jewelry store of C. Howard Daley.

Active in Republican politics, he sought the party's nomination for mayor in 1M9. but it went to Charles M. Hatch. That year, Mr. Todd was elected alderman from the Third ward, to fill a vacancy, and served until 1941.

The family subsequently moved to New Haven and then to Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Todd; four sons, -Kenneth, Robert, Kerry and Arthur Todd, all of Woodbridge; and a daughter. Mrs. Marcia McDermott. of Florida.

MARIA MELCHIOR, WIFE OF TENOR, DIES LOS ANGELES, Feb. 21-(AP) Funeral services will take place Saturday for Mrs. Maria Melchior, wife of Wagncrian tenor Laur- tz Melchior. Mrs. Melchior, 59, Bavarian xrn actress known to European ilm fans as Maria Hacker, died her sleep yesterday at the CLASSIFIED DISPLAY couple's home in suburban Sherman Oaks.

The coroner's office said that cause of death has not been established. Mrs. Melchior and the Danish- born tenor married in 1927. His lirst wife, Inger Nathensen. died in 1925.

Melchior met his second wife when she made a parachute jump and accidentally landed in front of him in a Munich garden.
