Bithorn, who entered the navy after the 1942 season, telephoned club officials yesterday that he had been discharged from service and would leave for Chicago immediately.

J-221 Army Gridders Team To Beat West Point, N. T-i 1 r-f I "iff; "ifl i John Loero, by a friend of Half Moon Bay, went out from the coast fishing town beyond Half Moon Bay and returned with an unusual fish for these parts, a dolphin. It was the first one caught here for a long time, as this fish frequents warm water and is seldom seen above Santa Barbara. This one was about three feet long and was sent to San Francisco. It is a fish which, like the whale, spouts.

Lee Parsons, a skipper for Judge Louis Davison, brought to the aquarium a red sculpin. He also caught a crimson red borrachio off the barge. It was caught on Tuesday. The biggest fish caught off the barge was a 24-pound ling cod, also several scamuda or kelp bass, some blue fish and yellow tail. The fishing boat "Georgia" was lifted at the city landing.

The "New Saturna" came to the General Fish Corporation with four and a half tons of sardines, which wee hauled to the Santa Cruz Processors to be frozen. The black cod catch was a ton. Blind boys and members of the personnel to the number of 30 went out on the "Old Tom" Tuesday to enjoy deep sea fishing. The Cottardo Stagnaro Fishing Corporation gave cash awards to the one who caught the first fish and the one who caught the largest fish. The navy convalescents went out yesterday.

The Dible hospital boys', catches reached 85 pounds. These were given a fillet process and taken to the hospital for a barbecue fish dinner. Dr. F. K.

Camp of rEobkdale Lodge and grandson, Morris Smith have gotten the fever and went out again yesterday. The entire catch on the "Marie" was 305 pounds. The largest ling cod weighed 25 pounds. The commercial catches were 1950 pounds of red rock cod and 950 pouads of black cod. Gino Ghio took a day off Tuesday as chef of the Miramar Cafe and went fishing off from Lighthouse point about the keip bed.

Ho landed 15 pounds of gopher cod and sea trout. The A. Paladir.i catches were 4000 pounds' of black cod and 1500 pounds of rJek cod. Nardo Oiivciri came in yesterday with 10,000 pounds of sardines for bait. The fishing boat "Opal," owned by Milton Neeley, i3 moored in tiie bay to the east of the wharf toward the end.

The Santa Cruz Fisheries catches were 6000 pounds of black cod and 1000 pounds of red rock cod.
