reporting in poor physical condition Monday but the only squad jolted by injury was SMU SMU lost Glenn Gregory its heralded sophomore back in the first hour of opening practice Gregory went out with a forty-four bowling teams making up 14 leagues will open the 1958- 59 kegling season at the Shreveport Bowling Center starting tonight and it is expected that the participating teams Will be more than tripled when two houses now under construction are opened before the year is out The 12 team Texas Eastern Men's League will blow the lid off the season when they roll this afternoon starting at 5:15 They will be followed on the lanes at 8 pm by the 12-team City Ladies handicap league Since the Labor Day holiday prevented Monday night leagues from starting this week the four loops bowling on this night will not get started until next Monday According to Joe McCue owner of the Center only one daytime league has been organized to date but he expects to add additional leagues after the winter Federation High School riles will govern play with the addition of a fifteen yard penalty and expulsion for use of profane language A boy must be in satisfactory standing with his school this to be determined by the school officials Protests of any game on grounds of Ineligibility mind be in writing in the Recreation Office within twenty-four hours after the game has been played All practice games or out of league games must have the consent of the Recreation Department before they are played Any team that does not have the consent of the Recreation Department will forfeit all Recreation League games played and the right for any recognition The Recreation Department reserves the right to make any changes that seem to be for the betterment of the league or for the protection of the boys All organized practive Will be limited to one ill hour each day Zoning and placing of boys will be handled by the Recreation bepartment as follows: A Grammar school boys Will Play for the school they attend Junior High boys may play for their Junior High or for the grammar school they attended High School boys ImaY Play for their High School or for the Jr Ugh schaol they attended If a school does not have a team then those will be assigned to teams by the Recreation Department Any player will be barred if he nses any method to artificially reduce other than normal play or prank It will be the duty of teams Sponsors to appoint a Coach acceptable to the Recreation Department The Department will direct all communication such as change of schedule protests etc to the Coach and if a change of Coacher' is made during the season then the Department must be notified at once and it Wiii be the duty of the Sponsors to find out and acquaint the new Coach with any committments by the previous Coach Failure to do so may Mean forfeiture of anY games involved during the change Team sponsors will be required to turn in any date that their team will Slot be able to play After the schedule has
