Feb. 21. Solomon L. Murphy is under arrest here on a charge or blackmail as the result of a letter which he wrote to a Sheridan woman whose name is withheld. The letter accused the woman of improper conduct and specifically charged that he had seen her coming out the apartment of a single man at 1 o'clock in the morning.

Murphy threatened to tell the woman's husband and make a public exposure of her alleged misconduct, unless she would visit his room at night in order to receive the advice and counsel he proposed to give her. When she received the letter she turned it over to her husband, and he in turn placed the leter in the hands of the police. He admitted authorship. Special to the Billings Gazette. Feb.
