Surviving are his adored companion of over 30 years Julia Sapp his children Ronald (Doreen) Sorenson Stephen (Mary) Sorenson all of Racine Barbara (Majid) Badakhshanian of Bolingbrook 111 and Lama Sorenson of Racine ten grandchildren five great-grandchildren brother-in-law James McCraken of Orlando Fla many other special relatives and friends In addition to his parents Ron was preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret (nee: Kowales) Sorenson daughter Diane Johnston and sister Bernice McCraken Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langen-dorf Funeral home 4600 County Line Rd on Monday Sept 26 2005 at 11 am with Rev Daniel Hinrichs officiating Interment with military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 4 7 pm (with Moose Lodge service being offered at 6:30 pm) and on Monday from 10-11 am In memory of Ron memorials to the Moose Heart or Hospice Alliance are encouraged Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home Crematory 4600 County Line Road (comer of KR and 22nd Ave) 262-552-9000 back by 3 pm is not something I think a part-time elected official can do with their schedule Especially if they are working hard to pay their high property The Village Board voted unanimously to change meeting times from 5 to 7:30 pm on April 18 after Tiahnybok and Jeff Lauer took issue with early start time during their campaigns The change came after both men were elected but before they were sworn in been at 8 5 6:30 7 1 just show up whatever time they tell said Village President John Steinbrink guess now try this for a while and see if it Steinbrink said the meeting times have even been an issue because regardless of what time the meetings start people only show up if they are interested on the items on the agenda it runs at 7:30 pm it is too late 5 pm is too early 6 pm is the dinner Steinbrink said we should do a round robin and meet every week at a different One concern he does have however is for the village staff is who this is hardest Steinbrink said have been here all day and what are they supposed to do with that time in between? Some members have no consideration for the staff who show up at every meeting and do a good BYCORRINNEHESS KENOSHA NEWS PLEASANT PRAIRIE -After only four months the Village Board has decided to make another change to its meeting times Beginning Oct 3 the board will meet at 6:30 pm one hour earlier than it has been meeting since May 16 Trustee Michael Serpe brought forth a resolution this week requesting the time changes to the election everyone was accusing us of not having meetings at an appropriate Serpe said a gesture we made them at the same time as the County Board and left the plan commission the same as the city We thought that would be pretty But since changing the times the Monday night Village Board meetings have lasted until after midnight ending with nobody in attendance but board members think this is going to better serve everyone who wants to attend our said Serpe who had hoped to start the meetings at 6 pm but received opposition from Trustee Alexander Tiahnybok who often works in Chicago the spirit of cooperation I argued strongly for 6:30 Tiahnybok said for the most part I could have made the 5 pm meetings But theoretically if on the south side of Chicago and I have to be at a 5 pm meeting I have to head Joseph Petkunas 1923 2005 Mr Joseph Petkunas 82 of Racine passed away at his home on Wednesday Sept 21 2005 Joseph Petkunas was bom in Lithuania on Feb 2 1923 and had lived in Racine since 1955 In Racine he was united in marriage to Eva Malcin-ski on Aug 19 1955 Joe was a member of St Richard's Catholic Church He was employed by Interlake Stitching for 32 years retiring in 1987 He was a man who was loved by everyone and will be sadly missed by all Joseph is survived by his wife Eva two daughters Maria (Tony) Kivenas and Jean Petkunas all of Racine three grandchildren Nicholas (Sarika) Kivenas Andrea Kivenas and Joseph Petkunas one great-grandchild Darien Kivenas three sisters and one brother-in-law Elena (Stanley) Kuzmickas of Toronto Canada and Stefa and Pranuta both of Lithuania He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Alex (Maria) Petkunas A Funeral Mass will be held at St Richard's Catholic Church 1509 Grand Ave on Saturday afternoon Sept 24 2005 at 1 pm with Fr Charles Wheatley celebrating Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church from 12 noon until service time Wilson Funeral He married his high school sweetheart Donna on Nov 26 1948 in Waukegan 111 They celebrated 57 years of marriage together He is sur-' vived by his wife Donna (Lupi) sons Donald (Holly) of Little Chute Wis Gerald (Fawzia) of Kailua Kona Hawaii Allan (Darlene) of San Clemente Calif a brother Edward (Nancy) of Green Bay Wis a sister Marilyn (Duane) Tate of Richfield Wis Also surviving are grandchildren Rachel Emmy Rae Adria Vanessa Christopher and Anthony Step-grandchildren Duane Ryon and Erica one great-grandchild and two step-greatgrandchildren and numerous cousins nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Minnie (Manty) sister Margaret (Anthony) Sadowski and a grandchild William Dorff Wyman Cremation and Burial Chapel of Mesa Ariz have made arrangements MD 57 of Kenosha passed away Tuesday Sept 20 2005 at United Hospital Systems St Catherine's Campus Born July 22 1948 in Kenosha he was the son of the late Joseph and Amelia (Masini) Magnino Sr Dr Magnino attended Frank Elementary School and McKinley Junior High School He graduated in 1966 from Mary Bradford High School where he also let- tered in basketball He studied pre- medicine and earned his col- lege degree from the Universi- ty of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 1971 He studied medicine at the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Medicine where he graduated magna cum laude in 1976 Dr Magnino completed his residency in Family Practice in Mason City Iowa and thereafter passed his Family Practice board certification He practiced medicine in Mason City Iowa before relocating to the Wautoma Wis area and finally to Kankakee HI During his 34 years of medical practice Dr Magnino received his certification in geriatrics and did consulting and research work He was a member of St Mary Catholic Church and also Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church Community activities included serving for many years on the Kenosha Civic Parade Committee He was an alumni of the Kingsmen Drum and Bugle Corps of Kenosha and supported many local organizations He was a member of the University alumni organizations at both Madison and Milwaukee and also a member of the American Medical Association An enthusiastic sports fan he enjoyed attending Milwaukee Bucks Brewers Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs games Dr Magnino was also an avid supporter of the Wisconsin Badgers He loved to read and cherished his coHection of vintage cars Survivors include his 1 brother Joseph Magnino of Greenfield three sisters Mary (Larry) Kessler of Kenosha PrisciHa (Hugh) McShane of Goshen Kent and Shirley 1949 2005 MILWAUKEE (AP) A veteran legislator says she will repay the state for more than 200 telephone calls made from a district office to a Madison man doing campaign work for municipal candidates who were supported by one of her aides Sen Alberta Darling R-River Hills commented Wednesday after being told about the calls by a reporter with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Telephone records showed the 226 calls were made between John Nesbitt 56 of Genoa City Wis died Wednesday Sept 21 at his home He was bom Jan 7 1949 in Chicago 111 the son of Cleo and Yvonne (Morbee) Nesbitt He grew up in Independence Mo He was in the Boy Scouts in Independence and attained the rank of Eagle Scout He graduated from De La Salle High School in Independence with the Class of 1967 He enlisted in the US Army in 1968 and proudly served one tour of duty in Vietnam as an MP He was processed out of the Army at Fort Sheridan DL which is how he came to be in the Lake Geneva area He worked at the Playboy Club in Lake Geneva for five years which is where he met his wife Sue He married the former Susan Koetterhagen on Dec 20 1975 in Key West Births October 2003 and April 2004 from Menomonee Falls office to Shawn Wanta who did yard signs and Web sites for two candidates for the village board in Menomonee FaUs Chris Slinker who was the lone employee in that office at the time also was a village trustee
