Local SUNDAY DECEMBER 14 2003 KENOSHA NEWS C3 BY MARK HORNICKEL KENOSHA NEWS They delivered by a jolly white-bearded man in a red suit but the Kenosha Police Department received dozens of toys to be given to good little girls and boys Dressed in their leather jackets and Harley Davidson gear members of the Kenosha chapter of the Harley Owners Group descended on the Public Safety Building Saturday morning and donated dozens of toys for area children enjoy riding our said Ed Hollister director of the HOG chapter always something we can focus our efforts on and where a need there to The toys included sporting goods toy trucks bicycles Legos figurines and an Etch-a-Sketch Hollister estimated the group donated between $1200 and $1500 in toys this year which members collected at the meetings is great they did a heck of a job really supporting the said police officer Vinnie Mutchler a board member on the Kenosha Professional Police Association Mutchler was on hand to accept the toys along with Kenosha Police Chief Dan Wade and detective Bob Karpus president of the KPP A are so many kids out there that one little present would make their Wade said appreciate everything the HOG chapter does and will do in the future We get the credit for giving the toys to kids when in fact the toys were given to us Kenosha Police Chief Dan Wade foreground left thanks Harley Owners Group of Kenosha chapter which includes about 650 members from Chicago to Milwaukee donated toys to the families in Kenosha Wade said appreciate it and sure the kids of Kenosha do Wade said HOG group is a fantastic Bison Producers Association has more than 100 members with more than 7000 buffalo being raised in the state The Wheatland farm is unlikely to remain the home of buffalo in the long run however Lester who owned a materials yard in Illinois said he originally purchased the land as an investment property possibly to use as a gravel pit But he said that use does not fit into county planning plan for
