Urishin also received a hand-made wooden car club tool box. 3 plead gulity Three Hazleton area residents pleaded guilty in separate cases in Luzerne County Court. Robbie Oundry of East Clay Avenue, West Hazleton, appeared before Luzerne County Senior Judge Bernard J. Podcasy and pleaded guilty to 15 counts of forgery, three counts of misuse of credit cards, and one count each of theft, simple assault, retail theft and receiving stolen property.

The court dropped 37 other charges. A preliminary restitution report states that $4,307.80 is owed to eight firms and one individual. Gundry was continuted in bail, pending a pre-sentence investigation. Sentencing is scheduled for July 18. In the other cases, Erin Gualtier of Grant Street, Hazleton, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft.

She was given three years probation which is consecutive to any other sentence now being served. She will pay court costs. Also, J.L. Skitzki of Wyoming Street, Hazleton, pleaded guilty to retail theft He was given a jail term of three to 20 months but was paroled. He will pay court costs.

Man convicted A criminal court jury has convicted a Mountaintop man of two counts of disorderly conduct Mark Sweeney, Spruce Street, was continued in bail, pending a pre-sentence investigation. Sentencing is set for Aug. 1. Cited for contempt Five defendants in Luzerne County Domestic Court were cited for contempt and given six-month jail terms. Another seven defendants failed to appear for hearings and warrants were issued for their arrests.

Judge Chester B. Muroski disposed of 83 cases presented by James Davis and his staff in the Luzerne County Domestic Relations Department Those jailed may be released with substantial payment of money owed. Cited for contempt and jailed were: Robert Correll, 825 Walnut St, Freeland, was cited for contempt and lodged at the prison. He owes $11,736 for the support of two children. Bobby Wade, Mountaintop, who owes $5,750 for a wife and two children.

Raymond Neikan, Hazleton, two children, $5,565. Joseph Brotzman, 210 Main Pardeesville, one child, $3,529. John Sweda, 420 E. Broad St, Hazleton, arrearages on past amounts due, $1,500. Warrants were issued for: Mark Tremblay, Sheppton, who owes $1,344 for one child; Christopher Dehart, 243 W.

At NURSING HOME WEEK ESSAY CONTEST WINNERS National Nursing Home Week was recently celebrated at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the Nursing Home Care Unit This year's theme was "Caring for Generations." As part of the festivities, an essay contest was held and participants submitted their thoughts and ideas on the above theme. First place was donated by Union, A.F.G.E.

Mathathon awards were presented by Marcia Costell, coordinator. The kindergarten class at Our Lady of Grace Building also received a special Mission Award for exceptional cooperation. Diane DeFluri is the pre-school and pre-kindergarten teacher. The kindergarten classes are taught by Sister M. Dolores ColL R.S.M, and Sister M.

PA 'f Grant Fink, of Hazleton, proudly displays his Sonny Kress Memorial Award, which he won during a special drawing at the Hazle Park Car Club's car show on June 19. Alice Flynn, principal of Holy Spirit Academy presented each student with promotion certifi The pre-kindergarten, preschool classes and kindergarten classes of Holy Spirit Academy held their promotion exercises on June 13 at Holy Spirit Academy Elementary School, Hazleton. The preschool class program was entiled "Friends." The pre-kindergarten class used as their theme "I Am Special." The kindergarten classes chose "All We Need To Know, We Learned in Kindergarten" for their program. Class members are: Jonatha Caso, Amber Cheesman, Samantha Ferro, Nichole Hoffman, Michael Hor-nick, Tamara Lehman, Tessa Lee Maglio, Anne McAndrew, Tara Mae McGuire, Destini Petruzzi, Frank Wills, Elizabeth Yale, and Alanna Yocum. The Hazleton Taxpayers Association will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Hazleton Area Public library community room to discuss the proposed school district millage increase and upcoming school district budget A report will be made on the fund-raising drive and the sale of Funfest tickets that the association is receiving proceeds from. The meeting is open to any interested person. The Hazle Park Car Club held its first car show June 19 with 1,000 spectators on hand to admire 96 antique and classic automobiles. Also on display were street rods, motorcycles, antique fire engines, 4-by-4 trucks, three Cobra Roadsters, model cars, dolls and two road courses for remote controlled vehicles.
