Expanding Army Issues Call For 200 Additional Chaplains AUSTIN, Aug. 31 (Special) The Army now needs 200 tional chaplains, the first 50 of whom should be Roman Catholic priests.

Col. Luther W. Evans, Fourth Army chaplain, has announced. The need for additional chaplains is the result of recent Army expansion. The current shortage will become more severe as the military forces continue to pand, Col.

Evans Because of the present shortage, reserve chaplains in the Fourth Army area are being urged to volunteer for active duty. There are some Th reserve chaplains in this area eligible for active duty, according to Col. Oscar B. Abbott, chief of the Texas Military district. The Army does not plan at present to call these men to service without their consent, except those who belong to Organized Reserve corps or National Guard units which are called.
