J. Brooklyn. A. In our experience, we have found that a heating coil will usually Interfere with the draft, resulting in partially deadening the fire. Another thing, the heating of the house will be interfered with, to the extent that a larger size furnace would be required to supply the same amount of heat.

However, if the proper valves and connections are installed, so as to control the flow and temperature of the heated water, this could be done; but, this system is more involved and expensive and in our opinion is less preferrable than a separate hot water supply. This can be remedied by having dormer windows cut wherever desired, both for the additional height at the sides and for sufficient light and ventilation. Make sure that the intersections between the new dormers and the roof are carefully flashed to prevent future leaks. Also, the entire underside of your roof and the walls of tho living room should be covered with Insulating boards; this will effect considerable savings in fuel.

McCurdy, borough realty broker, who yesterday discussed the renting situation of the past few weeks. "Curtailed building operations during the past five years," said the broker, "have done a great deal In bringing about an improvement in rental demand for business and apartment space.

"Present supply has had little competition from new buildings during this time, bringing about a steady decrease In toe amount of available empty space within New York city, with the exception of one or two zones. This decrease of supply is especially true of the apartment areas of Manhattan and Brooklyn, according to recent surveys," Mr. McCurdy states. "Accompanying this lack of new construction is the equally encouraging fact that population trends are now showing an Increase in the number of people coming back to the apartment areas.
