Mrs. John Lansing Swan Hostess At Tea for Volunteer Workers At Colony House Settlement Mrs. John Lansing Swan, execu tive director of Colony House, entertained a large group of volunteer workers at a tea at Colony House, 297 Dean yesterday afternoon.

Among the group were leaders and workers in the Recreation, Clerical and Library Departments, as well as the Sewing, Cooking and Craft Classes. Miss Nellie S. Truman, director of the Girl Scouts of Brooklyn, spoke on the "Qualities or Leadership'; Miss Emma Holloway, Supervisor of Institutional Work at Pratt Insti-ture on "Nutrition Problems of Settlement Houses," Miss Lillian J. Mc-Mahon, branch librarian of the Carroll Park Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, on "Value of Books for Children and Adults." and Miss Marion L. Ober, executive director of the Metropolitan Junior Achieve ment, outlined plans for the develop ment of the Junior Achievement organizations for both boys and girls recently inaugurated at Colony House.

She is a member of the Junior League. Her grandfather, the late William A. Nash, long was prominent in financial circles and was president of the Corn Exchange Bank for many years. He and Mrs. Nash were prominent in Brooklyn Heights society.

Her grandmother is Mrs. L. Terry Ponvert of Hormi-guero, Ouba. Mr. Brown wa.t graduated from Groton School and from Yale University in the class of 1929.

He is a member of the Knickerbocker Club of New York. Lt. and Mrs. Eugene A. Kenny, who are at present at Goveronr's Island where Lt.
