reduction In rates throughout Tennessee A spokesman for the board said a reply from the company is- expected within the next several weeks Although jdetails of the proposal which was made yesterday were not announced the commission has made it known that it is looking to an annual saving -for subscribers that amounts to hundreds of thousands of dollars" in the event the proposed reductions are not accepted and if no other solution to the commissions requests can be found a hearing will be conducted at which testimony will be presented rEarhart Is Facing Hazardous Flight i HOWLAND ISLAND to the personnel of the department With less than one year of service behind them in this section both Crow and Buckles have aided city and county officers in establishing a remarkable record relative to motor vehicle accidents and fatalities 1 A check of the records discloses that since inaugurating series after series of campaigns against drunk driving reckless driving operating vehicles without proper lights and brakes and other dangerous highway menaces not a single fatality has been reported in Kingsport since the first of the year while only three deaths occurred within this area during the period Records also reveal that two of the fatalities were the result of pedestrians walking without due caution in the center of the highway while onl yone fatality was recorded as the result of an automobile collision The following personnel changes were announced: Dismissal of Clyde May as assistant chief at Chattanooga and of Sam Crow of Mountain City Boone of Brin and Wallace Mcdltch of
