Hutchinson, Black Diamond. Thursday morning at 3 o'clock, of pleurisy. He was born August 28tb, 1815, at New Brunswick, New Jersey, where his mother still lives 9 1 years of age, also his sister, and daughter. His wife died in Georgia many tears ago, and since then their daughter Ueorgie has made her home with grandmother Brokaw.

This gentleman came here from the South, where he bad been keeping store, and engaged as book keeper for Captain Gilmore in 1869, when the works on this side of the river were operated. In 1871 be was employed by Tbos. S. Hutchinson, and has held close business and social relations with him and his family ever since. Mr.

Brokaw was a very intelligent man, was versed in polite literature, and spent what little leisure he allowed himself with the best authors. He was particularly adept in the study of Meteorology, and rarely missed in a weather prediction. He took careful notes of passing events, and seldom failed to give asked information as to times and places. He was a somewhat remarkable man. upright in bus iness, quick and accurate at accounts, rather dignified and self contained.

It started back, as Biatikenbueh-lcr says, "hell-a-whooping tiown the incline." the sieam rods clattering, smoke and lire flying, smashing through Wickerham's garden fence, digging up all the potatoes and beets as it plowed across the garden, breaking in a wagon shed and crippling a reaper. It finally landed in the chicken shed. Node Penrod says in the chicken coop, the thresher began to go, at first throwing out corn and beans succotash, cooked as it passed through the garden, and theD sucked in the chickens and rattled out two coiuplete chicken pot pies in four minutes.

The engineer made a narrow escape, having jumped for his life; the thresher was damaged about $100, but will be promptly repaired, and speedily put on the road again. The Bridge Case.
