Judge Flannelly held an adjourned session of court at Independence Monday to dispose of some unfinished business. Sam Carter and J. Callaway were sentenced to the penitentiary, Carter fifteen years and Callaway for four years. A jury found Carter guilty of highway robbery and another jury convicted Callaway of grand larceny. Both are negroes.

They held up a mai from the territory in the south part of Coffeyville this last winter and robbed him of a gold watch valued at $45 and about $2.50 in money. They were afterward? arrested while attempting to sell the watch at a second-hand store in this city. The following divorces were granted: Rosa Allman vs. C. W.

Allman. Dollie Mulkey vs. Jasper Mulkey. Jessie- 'McDaniel vs. Milton Mc-Daniel.

In the divorce case of Maggie A. Ford vs. Seth H. Ford, the case was reopened for further testimony and contined to next term. Court adjourned at about 2:30 p.
