Martin with his law practice the bar show was veered back by its authors to the governor With the governor in the climax was Dr Clarke Wescoe a part taken by James Ly-saught He was holding forth at the University of Kansas Medical center Viewing the prospect of the governor as a patient the dean had a ditty to the tune the Knife which only hinted at the eventual fate A surprise ending was provided by the governor in person At the climax with Dr Wescoe ready to operate the patient was wheeled in covered with a sheet The patient surprising much of the cast even threw off the sheet and stepped from the cart It was the real Governor Docking Smiling but without a word he strode off the stage Fresh Civil War Data Likely in Attic St Louis May 6(AP) A history editor said today the Civil war probably ranks second only to religion as the most written-about subject in America but scoffed at the idea the subject has been exhausted James I Robertson jr editor of the University of Civil war history magazine called for a national house cleaning of attics and other possible storage places for more source material Robertson speaking at the third national assembly of the Civil War Centennial commission urged all persons having Civil war diaries letters and illustrations to bring them out in the open the last decade publications based on new findings have shown conclusively that assumptions and beliefs of long standing not only can be challenged with validity but oftentimes can be refuted with he said exchange of verses to this tune the governor had these lines: not Athens on the Kaw Takes no I 5 to snout rah-rah I was banned from campus society not wonderful to me The attorney general Anderson as played by Frank Menghini could not voice an opinion without the governor responding: time you start think- (Continued FYom First Page) ing you start getting under my And of course he sang a parody on this song to Anderson: pal Hall get you In My brain Joe McDowell said to me grab a big fat fee Get Anderson out of the Fairfax case And leave it to me getting under my came down Anderson responded try to make a deal I think many Republicans are going to go along with me so I thought we might co-operate and push you upstairs George and I could get some Democrats on my Avoid Competition George Hart state treasurer held a prominent part in the Bar association in convention in Kansas City Kansas saw their governor harpooned and many state figures lampooned last night in a skit presented by the Wyandotte County lawyers The auditorium of Wyandotte high school was crowded was portrayed with less charity than any of the figures paraded across the stage his son (Dick) Docking judge pro tern of the Wyandotte County Probate court was a star in the zany affair Ironically he took the part of Chancellor Franklin Murphy The opening scene was in Puerto Rico the site of the conference and from whence Governor Docking at one time had attempted to talk John Anderson attorney
