Gene Simmonds. Eighteen-year-old Marvin Payne is making his debut as soloist with the Youth Chorale. Marvin has served as director of the El Monte West Ward Choir, Covina Stake, and also taught music for two years at a childrens summer day camp. He has recently been awarded a scholarship to Brigham Young University where he will continue his musical training. The 70-vdice chorale is being heard in London, Oslo, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Lubeck, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Gmunden, Marmisch, Innsbruck, Alp-bach (Austria), Lucerne, and Paris where a performance of the Chorale is being nationally heard and seen over Mrs.

3. A member of the music department faculty at Pierce College in Los Angeles, Mr. Taylor is also a composer of mriy numbers, including an opera, an oratorio, and 16. symphonies. His compositions have been performed widely throughout the United States.

They have also" been played in Korea and Japan. Mr. Taylor has been guest conductor of the Brigham: Young University Symphony Orchestra in a program of his compositions. He was also a finalist in the Interna-' tional Dimitri Mitropoulous Conducting Competition four years ago. He has served as a division and a district MIA supervisor, a stake music director, and musical director of a recital series, Saturday Evening Concerts.

The performances of Oklahoma are being produced by the West Covina Ward. The leading roles are being sung by Pat Fisher, Bobby Woods, and Ray Woods.
