Dean Garrison Back in Madison Reports That Peace is Hopeless Racine Wis (JP) Bricks were hurled last night at the homes of Axel Mickelsen and Otto Meissner leaders of the Independent Employes Council which is Involved in a labor dispute that has shut down the I Case company plants here more than seven weeks At the Mickelsen home a storm door was damaged Two windows were broken at the Meissner residence Police Chief Grover Lut-ter offered a $25 reward for apprehension of the vandals and assigned two detectives to the case Mickelsen who led a delegation of council members" to Madison to see create an autocracy and instructed its secretary to protest to the judge in writing Another resolution commended the Racine Trades and Labor Council for its work and support in the strike Milwaukee (JP) Sale of 1100 Chares of Milwaukee Journal stock at $3500 a share was approved today by County Judge McDonald of Oshkosh presiding in Milwaukee County court The stock is owned by the estate Cf the late Lucius Nieman founder and editor of the Journal and was sold to the Journal Company and Miss Faye McBeath a niece of Kieman Consideration of an offer of $4250 a share submitted by Moses An-renberg- publisher of the Philadelphia Inquirer and other publications Was refused by the court Under the sale plan a block of Stock In excess of a million dollars Is to be made available for employe participation in the newspaper's ownership Stock-holder employes will have a majority in the stock and control will be vested In Harry Grant publisher View of Trustees In the petition for the approval Of the sale the trustees and administrators of the Nieman estate said Miss McBeath was employed by the Journal Company "and has taken and now has an active interest in the affairs of the Journal Company end it is her view that the Milwaukee Journal should be conducted and published in furtherance of the ideals of Lucius Nieman deceased and that the proposal Will best carry this out" Judge McDonald said there was only one thing the court could do and added: "I don't think that the stock Should bo exploited and put on the auction block to the highest bidder It seems this have 450 shares and the Journal Company 650 shares A re-issue of the stock will follow so that 25 per cent of the stock will be held each by Grant Miss McBeath the Boyd interests and Journal employes Reveals State Social Security Expenditures Madison Wis (JP) State social security aid expenditures during November totalled $936651 an increase of $26692 over October George Keith of the pension
