Jordan, a former New Haven real estate dealer, walked out on her Feb. 1, 1954. They were married Dec.

25. 1950. The decree was issued by Judge J. Howard Roberts on the ground of desertion. Mr.

Jordan is said to be living in New York City. Judge Raymond J. Devlin granted Barbara Boyle MacDonald, of Stamford, an uncontested divorce from John MacDonald, of Norwaik, but postponed formal entry of the decree when Mr. MacDonald made an unexpected personal appearance, and claimed he had not received timely notice of the hearing. Mr.

MacDonald sat quietly in the front row of the spectators section while his wife and three witnesses testified about his acts of alleged intolerable cruelty, but after Judge Devlin had granted the divorce requested an oppor- lunity to be heard. The husband said-he had paid a lawyer $5 or $10 as a retainer, )ut no appearance was entered In the case in behalf of the defendant. Judge Devlin said he would lold up the decree until the defendant contacted his counsel. Mr. and Mrs.

MacDonald were married Feb. 12, 1954. Helen Thompson Hooper, of )arien, received a divorce on the ground of intolerable cruelty after estifying that Bradford Hooper, a consulting engineer, of New York city, was attentive to other women, and on the occasion of a 'iolent quarrel last January struck her on the head and mocked her down. They were married June 20, 1936. Under the provisions of an agreement approved by Judge Devlin, Mr.

Hooper will pay his ex-wife $325 a month as alimony, land $100 a month for the support of their two children. Mrs. Hooper received the custody of the children, and Mr. Hooper was awarded the right of reasonable visitation. uncontested divorces granted yesterday by Judges Devin and Roberts were as follows: Lucille vs.
