The idea for a Dallas County evangelistic campalgD on a large scale has been discussed among Dallas County residents for many years. However, specific planning for the campaign was formulated in the minds of two Dallas ministers and a businessman as they traveled across town together for the weekly They were Loyd Smith, minister for the Sunset Church of Christ; Jack Hardcastle, minister for the Oak Lawn congregation; and Eugene Smith, Dallas publisher of Bible school materials.

In 1962, the group engaged in planning sessions which resulted in an outline of what had to be done to make the campaign a success, including a promotional budget of $40, 000. The thoroughness of their planning was such that this budget has been revised only slightly since that time. At a meeting in 1962, the elders of Sunset Church of Christ, 2442 Jefferson agreed on the basis of the budget and plans presented by the trio to take on the oversight of the large project. The elders asked the Smiths and Hardcastle to work with them In the fund raising, promotion and organization of the meeting. Sunday School Wednesday Evening 8:00 Reading Room Open and Nursery Open on Sunday Banner Announces Baptist Cruzada A new innovation in church communication made its appearance over Texas this past weekend. A bright red banner, 136 feet long with letters seven feet tall was flown over Corpus Christl inviting viewers to "Watch For Ourzada Bautista Nueva Vida." This is the longest banner of its type to ever be pulled by an airplane, and is the culmination of weeks of engineering by the aviation firm that is handling the project. La Cmzada Bautista Nueva Vida (The Latin American Baptist New Life Crusade) is a joint evangelistic effort of the 4,000 Anglo Baptist Churches and 475 Latin American Baptist Churches of Texas, and will be conducted throughout the state August 30 October 11.

This banner, which was flown over Corpus Christ! an July 18 and Alice on July 19, will be seen over most of the state during the next six weeks, prior to the beginning of the Crusade. It will be in Dallas on Aug. 9. Dr. T.

A. Patterson, Executive Secretary for The WWW which traveled in Japan in 1963. The Crusade was sponsored by the Southern Baptist Convention. Rev. McGinnis said West may show slides and pictures of the trip.

Baptist General Convention of Texas, remarked that he hoped through this medium, the church could reach people on the beaches, golf courses, swimming pools and cooking on their patios. This approach will introduce air-advertising to many of the scheduled cities for the first time; and if this program proves successful, other Texas cities will be added to the schedule later in the crusade. Tkt Bible BY W. FRY QUESTION: "1 hear a lot about faith. What is faith?" ANSWER: "Now faith'is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Heb.

11 J) A modern speech Bible renders this verse as follows: "Now faith means putting our full confidence in the things we hope for; it means being certain of things we cannot see." 7aith is much more than mere assent or consent of the mind. Faith contains such ingredients as confidence, conviction, loyalty, reliance and trust. One may agree that Christ is God's W.LFKY Son merely because he has no valid reasoo to think otherwise, but when one changes his life, builds his character, and rests his hope upon die teachings of Christ, then it can be truly said of him that he has FAITH in Christ. A live, active, saving faith continually expresses itself in following die teachings of Christ. It begins with obedience to gospel, and continues throughout a life of humble service to Him.
