A sworn affidavit from Decatur Police said the 51-year-old man is already a registered sexual predator in Illinois based on previous offenses.

He was booked on a new charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and remained held in the Macon County Jail Tuesday night in lieu of posting $250,000 bond. All preliminary charges are subject to review by the state office. Writing in the affidavit, Detective Jamie Wrigley did not explain how the new charge had suddenly come to light. But he said the girl had disclosed the abuse during a con- ducted at the Child 1st Cen- ter in Decatur. She said the abuse involved touching her private parts.

Wrigley quoted the girl, who is a relative of the man, as saying the abuse happened at an address in Decatur when the man and his wife were visiting, and the girl ended up sharing their bed. Wrigley said the girl also recalled another incident of abuse that happened in a different police jurisdiction. Contact tony Reid at (217) 421-7977. According to the Mat- toon Police Department, Brian E.

Rowark 44, was taken into custody at 1:29 a.m. in the 300 block of South 13th Street. Deputy Chief Jason Tay- lor said the incident began when a resident noticed a car parked in the alley be- hind their home and called the police to report suspi- cious activity. Taylor said an officer approached the car, wit- nessed the two occupants engaging in sexual ac- tivity, and subsequently found a cellphone con- taining a message sugges- tive of prostitution. Rowark allegedly re- fused to exit the car and then tried to drive away, Taylor said.

An officer reached in to turn off the car and was allegedly punched by Rowark. Three officers were needed to subdue Rowark as he al- legedly fought with them. A stun gun was used by of- ficers seven to eight times with no effect, Taylor said. Rowark was charged with patronizing a pros- titute, aggravated battery to an officer and resisting an officer. Taylor said a woman exited the car prior to Ro- wark being taken into cus- tody, and she was arrested at the scene.

Police said the woman, Kimberly M. Gadeberg, 29, of Mattoon was charged with prostitution, ob- structing an officer, pos- session of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer. Gadeberg allegedly en- gaged in prostitution, lied to police about her iden- tity, was found to be in possession of heroin and needles and struggled with the arresting officer. Rowark and Gadeberg were taken to the Coles County Jail. Two arrested for alleged prostitution, resisting police HERALD REVIEW DECATUR WAND-TV has hired Jim Kosek as chief meteorologist.

PEORIA Saying the ju- venile court system simply the right place for a 14-year-old boy accused of murder, a Peoria County judge opted to move the matter to the adult court. That means the boy will now be charged soon as an adult and, if convicted, will face decades behind bars. Had Judge Frank Ierulli kept the case in his fourth-floor juvenile courtroom, the teen would have been held until, at most, his 21st birthday. The teen is accused of shooting Zarious M. Fair, 16, in the 700 block of East Frye Avenue on June 12 during an attempted robbery.

Another person, Doyle M. Nelson, 18, has already been charged in death: Not as the trig- german prosecutors be- lieve that was the 14-year- old but rather as an ac- complice to the attempted robbery and subsequent murder. charged un- der the theory that he was legally accountable and therefore just as guilty as the 14-year-old boy who allegedly shot Fair. Prosecutors have said an eyewitness told po- lice the 14-year-old boy and Nelson ran up behind Fair and demanded items. When Fair said he have anything, the younger teen allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot him three times in the torso.

Fair died 20 minutes later at a hos- pital. 14-year-old moved to adult court in slaying Tica Inc. Heating Cooling 429-5741 TM When was the last time your air conditioner had a complete physical?
