the Wilcox Wins Kenosha Connty Senator Roy Wilcox of Eau Claire was given a splendid endorsement in Kenosha county having a plurality of more than four hundred over Blaine and of more than seven hundred over Seaman ileox romped home with the long end of the vote in nearly every voting precinct in the city and his losses in the county to Blaine were small The only town in the county where Seaman was in the lead was in the towny of Randall where had one over Wileox but Blaine got as many as both of the other The Non-Partisan League endorsement seemed to be a winning for the State candidates in the part of the connty particularly in the towns of Wheatland and but it was no warrant for sac-cess in the city wards Liquor Forces Get Big Vote liquor forces in the connty got vote and in addition to putting Malcolm Farr as a candidate member of the assembly they McHenry second to Lenroot in race for United States senator with Thompson third in the list The vote McHenry was it was learned that the revolver purchased in Kenosha and used at the shooting of Pacini was bought by a man who carried credentials which indicated that he was a member of the Chicago police department It is declared that the credentials were properly signed and sealed in the regular way under the seal of the city of Chicago It is thought pos sible that the credentials were either stolen or forged but the discovery has added -a very interesting angle to the search for the Pacini slayer It was admitted that officials from Kenosha were investigating in Chicago Chief of Police was not at bis office this moroinsuii-4t was said that he was not in Chicago Cox Tries to Link Profiteers with GOP (By United Presa) Aboard Gov Special Tarin Culbertson Mont Gov Cox said today as he pushed his stamp campaign another step west into Montana that he is prepared to show that those corporations which made greatest profits out of the war are among the biggest backers of Republican campaign funds most notorious profiteer the American Woolen company William Wood president already has made a large contribution to the campaign book of republicanism which William Barnes Albany New York is he charged specifically Start Longest Aerial Mail Route was a great primary battle and the finish was not' certain until the last of the returns had come drifting in long after the cold gray dawn of the morning 4 1 -The narrow margins of victory mads the race exciting on both tickets It was evident that hundreds of Democrats had deserted their own party and had helped to piSk the candidates for the Republicans Billy Rauen walked off with the Republican nomination sheriff with a (plurality of S3 over Milligan John Scholey whose crusading made i him the most interesting candidate for I the election was third in the race nearly four hundred voi-s behind Rauen and Freeman who was spon- sored by the Non-Partisan League was last in the race nearly a thousand votes behind the winner Frazier and Herrmann Close The race on the Democratic ticket for the nomination of sheriff was even closer Frazier had a narrow lead of 39 over Herrmann and Wade was third in the suing more two hundred SVk'rr-ehad vhtwir-ier The official count of the bail its-will to assure victory in both of the races for sheriff and the same is true of the Republican race for the nomination for connty treasurer On the face of the returns Tom Scott lead Graves bv a margin of 31 votes Fisher by Big Margin District Attorney Peter Fisher had one of the most notable victories of the primary and he won' the Republican nomination in the three-cornered race with over 500 to spare Powell was second and Symmonds third in the race Fisher carried all but one of the voting precincts in the county and ran strong in all of the city wards The candidates for the other county offices on the Republican ticket were largely contesting between the candidates endorsed by the and the regular Republican candidates Not one of the candidates was landed a winner where there was any opposition Republican Vote Heavy The surprise of the primary was the big vote cast for the Republican candidates John Schmitt Jr the Democratic candidate for register of deeds was high among the county Democratic candidates with a total of 1411 votes while the total vote for a nomination of a district attorney on the Republican ticket touched the high mark of 6259 If vote is to be taken as an indication of the vote to be cast at the election in November the county is going to be largely Republican The tabulated vote cast for the candidates for county offices will be found in another column 196 167 599 622 110 Total Towns Featuring neck and neck finishes on both of the old party tickets the voters of the county on Tuesday named the above tickets for the November election The places on the ticket in several cases were won after heartbreaking finishes and it was not until nine this morning that the smile of satisfaction crawled over the faces of the winners and the scowl of defeat over the chops of the losers It 1196 1183 1986 2974 297 Total County Henry Allen Cooper of Racine for wenty-six years a member of congress on his way back to Washington to it twenty-eight for in the pri- naHes on Tuesday he won "the Repub-can nomination over Congressman 'Tifford Randall of Kenosha by a urge plurality Cooper had a majority all the votes cast in Racine county nd his plurality of nearly 4000 over Judge Randall in the Racine county rote gave him a lead that it was impossible for Randall to overcome even nough he was the victor over Cooper the other counties of the district Kenosha county gave Congressman Randall a splendid home county en-iorsement and he led Cooper in tbis ountv by nearly a thousand votes Te had a margin over Cooper in Walworth Waukesha and Rock counties ut when the Racine returns came in these pluralities for the Kenosha man dwindled before the big vote cast for Cooper in his home county I can see that I have been Congressman Randall said in GOVERNOR Democratic he twice candidates card eastern Randall The a big over for landed the for the received any double nearest nearly Kenosha had its first election with women on Tuesday and the bedraggled ballot counters today are haping that before the national alection something can be done to equalize the woTk for the city Kenosha cast the largaet vote in its history As the polls were closed at eight a total of 7702 votes had been cast cr were waiting to be cast and this was more than 4600 votes more than were cast in the last general primary ifl 1913 It was impossible to tell how many votes had been cast by the women of the city but it was estimated that fully three thousand five hundred women voted Only a checking of the poll lists will show just how many vojted In some of the wards it was nine before the last ballot had been dropped into the box by the waiting voters and the counting of the ballots started later than at any election ever held in Kenosha Crowd Polls at Zero Hour As the time for the closing of the polls approached the precinct voting places in practically every ward of the city were crowded with people Every bit of available space was taken np by people waiting to vote At the Third ward when eight came the line of people waiting to vote extended all way from the engine house to Grover street Jrnt police officers kept the men and women in line and they waited a full hour nd every one of them voted One woman with a baby in her arms was near the end of the line but she waited it out and cast her ballot Her husband was just a little ahead of her in the line and he came hack and held baby while voted The family was a hundred per cent in participation in the election This Third ward led the city in the number of votes cast with a total of 1340 Turn Voters Away At the polls of the Second ward at the Durkee school two score of voters were unable to cast ballots When eight came all the voters that conld be squeezed into the voting place were admitted and then the police officers closed the doors leaving the remainder of them more than sixty-out with the right of suffrage denied them told them to come said the officer they get in and the law says that the polling place closes at eight In order to give the full measure of this time we kept the doors open until five minutes after The voters who had found it unable for them to get ijtto the polling place went away grumbling but the one best bet is that they will vote early on that November day when the president is elected Vote Largely Republican If the vote at the primary is to be taken as an indication Kenosha is going to be one of the banner Republican cities at the general election Fully seventy-five per 'cent of the vote cast was castfor the Republican can- 1 didates In some wards wlflcH had ie-turned a Democratic majority of two hundred six months ago less than this number of votes were cast for the Democratic candidates The examination of the vote cast in the various drives home the need of a redistricting of the city and a redistricting at once The woman vote was very heavy in the south wards of the city but in the north wards it was only a minor feature Here is the vote cast in the various wards First ward 1st precinct 718 Congressional District Result Total Towns 205 451 599 360 BAR RELATIVES FROM
