But here the conditions! Hidden at Dead of Night Silver a Goldwyn feature film of the famous Klondike region is to be shown at the Burke Theatre on next Friday and Saturday November 12 and 13 and between that I time and the present there are to be ten different hordes of silver hidden for Kenoshans to find I Between midnight tonight and midnight Friday Jones Jr the publiety manager of the Burke Theatre with Charles Collins and Marvin Kincaid two of the persons in charge of the theatre will bury not too deep ten treasure boxes having from one dollar to five dollars in each box all of it in silver somewhere in some vacant lots in Kenosha The approximate location of the lots in which the treasure is buried will be published later in Kenosha Evening exclusively With each of the ten silver hordes buried there will be three tickets for the showing of Silver No Strings Tied to It There are no strings tied to the possession of the treasure by the person who finds it with the exception that it is asked that he notify the Burke Theatre that he has discovered the chest of silver No employee of the theatre will be allowed to join in the search for the silver Searchers for the treasure are advised that there will be no need to dig deeply in the vacant lots The silver will not be buried more than a foot deep but it is admitted that every effort will be made to obliterate all traces of the hiding place Further details of the contest are to be published from time to time in the columns of this Raper Only tire most desired of the new styles stagger loose back types full ample wrap and some magnifi- cently fur trimmed made up in such materials as Bolivia Silvertone Yalama Peco Plush Suedene Plumette Goldtone Velour Broadcloth and Polo Cloth BANQUET AT ELKS CLUB The increasing appreciation of things musical which has been apparent in Kenosha during the past several months was evident Thursday eveping when an audience of four hundred people gathered the auditorium of the Swedish Baptist church to hear the concert given by Ragnhild Holmquist Congdon Edmund A Stella and Wesley LaViolette under the auspices of the Aid society of the church The concert was unique in that presented a trio of local artists who have become popular in other cities but who have not appeared frequently in public in Kenosha Mrs Congdon is a member of the faculty of the Kenosha School of Music Her voice is a soprano of fine qualities especially in the handling of lighter songs She has pleasing stage presence and sings with admirable control and self possession Verdure from was the climactic number in the program which was chosen with fine discrimination Perhaps the songs which made the most appeal were a group of Scandinavian selections which were most enthusiastically received by the assemblage As stated above Mrs Congdon is especially pleasing in the lighter songs which are delivered with a verve and spirit which combined with perfect enunciation make a most laudable showing Violin and Piano Numbers Edmund A Stella director of the Kenosha School of Music was the violin soloist It has been sometime since Mr Stella has appeared in concert in Kenosha since his work with the school has encroached upon his personal time to a very great extent The deftness and flexibility the execution of his numbers presented last evening was gen a sincerely enthusiastic reception It is probable that Mr Stella will give a senes of recitals during the winter season Wesley LaViolette had an interesting position the muscale He not only played solo organ and piano numbers with the customary finesse and artistic interpretation which mark his every offering but he also played sympathetc accompaniments for Mrs Congdon and included in the list of ocal and piano offerings to of bis own compos tiors was the name of the delightful selection sung by Mrs Congdon and so delightfully accompanied by Mr LaV 'olette His "To a Sea was a charming inter-number between the heather Etude major by Chopm and Etude Hat by Liszt Mention must also be made of the work of Mis- Iene Theresa McClay who acted as accompanist for Mr Stella Sh accomplished some difficult things in a masterly way It is anticipated
