Rainey plans to direct six or seven plays a year as well as children's pi'oductions. The new acting company has many needs, but “more than anything else I need some more bodies,” Rainey said. There are no restrictions concerning member­ ship. The director said that casting would be governed only by what called for in the scripts. Mrs. Stickney has been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1952 and treasurer for the Pikes Peak Artists Association since 1966. She studied oil painting with Antone Nelson, of Riverside, Calif., is a graduate of the Famous Artists Schools of Westport, Conn., and recently she studied transparent watercolor techniques with Earle Gardner, who is well known in this area as artist and instructor. Her works have been exhibited in New York, Connecticut, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and California, and in local and regional shows. She has received awards in area shows and fairs. Mrs. Stickney has her home studio at 149 Grinnell, and she currently has works in private collections in New Jersey, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, California, and Colorado. But why? ‘‘Why not?” is his comeback. “If I sold Campbell’s beans or if I sold hamburgers, it might not be right,” he shrugs. “If that fellow cihavez (Cesar Chavez, labor leader seeking to organize (California grape pickers) sold pantyhose, it might look funny, but I have always been around attractive ladies, and I always see ladies at their best, so I’m observant.” Martin, who has sung many a date in Miami nightclubs, was in Miami this time in his new role of senior executive for marketing and sales management for Brevoni Hosiery Corp. “I fell into this,” Martin says. “With hamburgers, the field’s restricted to football players and baseball players, isn’t it? With chicken, you have to be from the South. “I had met ¡the president of the company, and he asked me once if 1 would come to work with them.
