Dinner front twelve till two. A Monster Show. All over the land, and in almost every paper in the State of Kansas, can be seen the announcement that a vast army of men and horses were steadily marching toward Lawrence, and if the encomiums of praise which we notice daily in our ex changes are any criterion to go by, then we are to have a pertect avalanche of ele phants, lions, camels, tigers, leopards, hyenas, ostriches, and a host of lesser specimens of the animal kingdom, with a deluge of circus taleut, here soon. Old John Robinson never does anything by halves. Un Friday, the 2d day of June, he proposes to make his grand entree into Lawrence, heralded by Prof.

McCann'a celebrated military reed band, consisting ot twenty musicians, elegantly uniformed, at an expense of over $150 per man, and seated in the golden car of the conqueror, followed by the monster war elephant, Old Emperor, whose actual weight is over five tons, a colossal triumphal car, with a monster living lion crouching upon an elevated dais, with four young ladies, representing in costume the four great nation of the world, Asia, Africa, Europe and America, followed by twenty-five magnificently ornamented and decorated cages, covered with crimson and gold, making one of the most imposing appearance i ever seen upon the public streets. John Robinsou has inaugurated a new era in the menagerie and circus business, by the erection of two separate and distinct tents, one exclusively for the menagerie department, and tbe other expressly for the equestrian performances thus allowing those who do not care to visit a circas, the opportunity of witnessing the finest menagerie collection in the world, although the two tents are connected together by a beautiful archway or entrance, and every yisitor, who purchases a ticket for seventy five cants can pass and repass from menagerie to circus as often as they wish during the hours of exhibition. ThU ia one of the finest arrangements we ever heard ol, and Mr. Robinson deserves great credit for introducing it into this country. SUNDAY, MAY :21, 1871.

Thr Old Wat. We understand that Dr. Rouselanx has changed his method in one important particular instead of giving prescriptions to be filled at the drug stores, he intends to keep, compound and arry with him on his "professional visits, his own medicines. This is the old way, when to get well did not require a great Jeal of red tape. Tbe physician was called and filled his own prescriptions.
