Ten lives were lost and four buildings destroyed by a fire which started in tbe Klondike theatre at Hurley. today The dead are: Cleveland, JH Clifford. Thomas Le Claire, George Benert, Emory, Timothy Ryan. Gay, St Louis; Thomas Ozanne, Harry Raymond, Clara Bonne. The seriously injured are: Jennie Render, Annie Scott Laura Russell.

"Billy'' McLaughlin Tbe Klondike was a vaudeville theatre and all of the dead aad injured were con nected with tbe theater as performers, Most of then lived at Hurley. Thomas Le Claire was a brother of the proprietor of the theatre. Tbe fire started on the stage and in a few minutes tbe entire structure was a mass of flames. Tbe third story was used as sleeping quarters and the fire spread so rapidly as 10 cut eff th escape of tbe occupants, Tbe theatre was quick ly consumed and the fire spread to the ad joining Only by tbe hardest work was tbe town saved from being wipei out The charred remains of six of tbe victims bave bsen recovered. Tbe theatre burned once before in 1887, when eleven women lost their lives.

Topeka, Nov 6. More than 150 new school houses were built in Kansas during the past summer. State Superintendent Nelson has received annual reports from ninety-five of the 105 counties in the state and they show that 150 new building bave bean put up. No 3, at Wagner, Mont, about 2:30 on July 3, last, ot $83,000, was arrested in tbe bouse of Josie Blake, at 2005 Chest nut street, last night. Evidence which developed after the ar rest cosfimed the grounds of the arrest the man proving to be the criminal wanted. The police today secured a valise con taining between $30,000 and $50,000 in notes of a national bank, supposed to be a part ot the proceeds of that haul. The man was arrested at tbe instigation of a jeweler from whom he had purchased a gold watch with some of the new bills The watch and $400 in new bills were found on bim.
