25-0 Home- coming win and the Old Domin- ion Athletic Conference I Championship Randolph-Macon was held to 79 net yards rushing in 37 attempts against the Wasps and yielded seven turnovers in the muck The Emory Henry defense which had yet to play solidly for four quarters this season played like men on a mission I wanted to come out and show people that we could come out and play in the second half because we played well in the Second half at said linebacker Don King head coach Lou Wacker agreed and hoped the outcome indicated that his defense fi-nally has come of age only thing a defense can take a lot of pride in is turn- overs and shutouts Wacker said you take a win simply by outscoring the oppo- nent you credit the offense with the win But when you shut a good offense down completely you have no doubt who you owe the game The best news of all for Wack- er however was the perfor- mance of his defensive secondary which he believed to I be somewhat suspect prior to I Saturday teams were allowing more meager productions from their opponents But with an overflow Scott Stadium crowd of 44300 roaring its approval Virginia completely controlled play in the line and dropped one big play after another on the Wolfpack offensively and defensively- The performance kept records perfect (6-0 3-0) and scouts from the Orange Sugar Citrus and Hall of Fame bowls entertained It also extended the winning streak in regular season games to 12 do anything that we North Carolina State coach Dick Sheridan said just blocked us and ran it through us just beat us about every way they could very disappoint- CHARLOTTESVILLE Va Herman Moore was still catching his breath after breezing into the end zone for final points in a 31-0 victory over North Carolina State when he saw his coach George Welsh running at him know whether to run and hide or Moore said thought maybe I had done something Moore had done nothing wrong indeed no one in orange and white could have been accused of that Saturday but his run-and-hide thought might be good advice for anyone lining up against Virginia this season Even the No 2 national rank seemed inadequate in the face of a total domination of the
