Workshop On Epilepsy Is Saturday Interested persons are reminded of the one-day workshop entitled "Epilepsy Alert for School Personnel," to be held Saturday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the South Attendance Center of Iowa Lakes Community College, Rooms 53 and 54, at Emmetsburg. Although the program is designed primarily 1 for school personnel working with children with an epileptic condition, all parents and interested persons are invited to attend. Anyone unable to attend the complete program is welcome to sit in on any portion of the workshop.

Funeral Today For Otis Woods Funeral services for Ottis O. Woods, 69, were held at 2 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church, the Rev. Richard Pearson officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery.

Mr. Woods was born June 21, 1902, at Mill Shoals, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey' Woods. He died Monday, April 3, 1972, at his home, He received his education in the East St.

Louis, schools. On Oct. 27, 1920, he was united in marriage to Olga R. Skog at Armstrong. He spent his first 20 years in East St.

Louis and the remainder of his life in Estherville. He worked for the Rock Island Railroad and had worked for Sales Co. for 28 years at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a Past Exalted Ruler of the local Elks lodge. He was also a member of the Izaak Walton League.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Russell (Alyce) Smith, Estherville; a son, Cecil P. Woods, LaMirada, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ovella Simons, Belleville, Ill, He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga, his parents and one granddaughter. Pallbearers were Milton Day, Jerry Henricksen, Jack M.

Kint, Michael Reynolds, Eston Rogers and Ronald J. Schenck. Blood Donors Receive Awards for Contributions RINGSTED Arden Jongberg of Armstrong was awarded a pin as a one-gallon blood donor during the visit of the Red Cross Bloodmobile in Ringsted March 28. Pins were given to several first-time donors: Mrs. Clarice Spirit Lake Funeral for Charles Foster Charles Clark Foster, son of John Osbourn and Catherine Westphal Foster, was born April 4, 1881, at Otterben, and died March 27, 1972, at his home in Spirit Lake of a heart attack.

Foster was a farmer until his retirement. He lived in Layfayette, until 19 years of age when he moved Wright County, Iowa, and later to Humboldt County. On May 29, 1907, he was united in marriage to Nellie Christine Olson at Humboldt. The couple resided in Humboldt County until 1916, moving then to Jackson County, Minn. They farmed there until 1938, and then moved to a farm near Estherville until his retirement in 1955.

The couple then purchased a home in Spirit Lake. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Spirit Lake. Survivors include his wife, Nellie; three sons, Gaylord of Jackson, Delmer of Storm Lake, Clifford of Estherville; six daughters, Mrs. Laurence (Gladys) Larson of Jackson, Mrs. Fred (Neva) Ringkob of Alpha, Mrs.

Ernest (Ardell) Shaffer of Spirit Lake, Mrs. Robert (Juanita) Wachel of Jackson, Mrs. Carling (Eleanor) Synstelien of Fergus Falls, Mrs. Eldon (Verna) Winter of Jackson; 35 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, one daughter, one granddaughter, two brothers, six sisters.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 31, at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Fred J. Peters officiating. Interment was in Union Cemetery at Humboldt. Howard, Mrs.

Edna McKay, Mary Andersen, Gayle Henrich, John Jorgensen, Philip Christiansen, Dan Wentworth, Ken Jensen, Mrs. David Mueller of Ringsted, Carl Wicks and Mrs. Sue Anderson of Graettinger. Fifty six donors gave blood, according to Mrs. Harlan Plagge and Mrs.

Garnett Anderson, bloodmobile chairmen. Sixteen would-be donors were turned away because of medical reasons. Mrs. Plagge and Mrs. Anderson expressed their appreciation to all who helped to make the visit of the bloodmobile a success.

Crossing Lights to Be Rebuilt Rebuilding of crossing lights near Maniece and McKinley School to facilitate safer crossing will be begun within the next two weeks, according to Charles Bernard, city manager. The street corners at Central Avenue and 15th Street Place near Maniece and at Central Avenue and West First Street near McKinley are to have signals with booms over Central Avenue, The new signals, which will include "walk" and "don't walk" indications, will bring these crossings up tofederal standards for uniform control devices. The devices now in use at those crossings are corner posts. $300 Damage In Mishap Harold Edward Scholten, Alton, damaged his automobile in skidding into a ditch at 10:11 p.m. yesterday on Central Avenue, east of 20th Street.

According to the report at the Estherville police department, Scholten was driving his 1970 Chevrolet east when it crossed the center line, skidded 192 feet, turned around and went into the ditch sideways. Rites Friday For Mayme Alexander Funeral services for Mrs. Mayme Alexander, 78, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at ReeseHenry Funeral Chapel in Estherville. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after noon today.

Mrs. Alexander was born Feb. 23, 1894, on a farm near Burt, Iowa, to Minnie and Frank Hayden, and died at the Rosewood Manor Nursing Home April 5, 1972. She spent her girlhood in and around Lone Rock, and Bancroft, Iowa, where she received her education in the local schools. In 1911, she came to Estherville where she was employed for a number of years with the telephone company.

On Sept. 30, 1917, she was married to Mark C. Karr, who was in the garage business with Chet Ryder as a partner in the firm, Two years after their marriage, her husband died after a short illness. She went to Bloomington, after her husband's death, where she took secretarial training at Brown's Business College. Upon her return to Estherville, she was employed in a secretarial position with the Rock Island Railroad in the local offices for a number of years.

Before her marriage on Sept. 3, 1943, to David R. Alexander, local attorney and abstractor, she was employed in the County Engineer's Office in Estherville. Mrs. Alexander is survived by three sisters, Mrs.

Blanche Campbell, Mrs. Florence Smith and Mrs. Neva Ditsworth, all of Estherville, one brother, John B. Hayden of Moline, several nieces and nephews, also grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, one sister and one brother.

Masonic Rites For Frank Pfaff There will be a Masonic funeral service for Frank Pfaff at 7:30 tonight (Thursday) at Reese-Henry Funeral Home. All Masons are asked to attend. Brown, formerly of the Estherville area, as pastor. He is the Frank Pfaff Rites Friday Funeral services for Frank D. Pfaff, 80, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Reese-Henry Funeral Home at Estherville. Mr.

Pfaff died at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital after a long illness. He was born Sept. 3, 1891, at Sioux City, the son of Mr. and Mrs.

Charles Pfaff. He received his education in Sioux City schools. He was married June 10, 1915, to Kathryn Mooney at Sac City. Mr. Pfaff was a baker by trade and operated a bakery in Sac City from the time of his marriage until 1937 when he moved to Estherville to manage the Pfaff Baking Company here.

He retired in 1956. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, North Star No. 447 in Estherville, Knights of Pythias and White Shrine Auxiliary. Surviving are his wife, Kathryn; a son-in-law Linn Foderberg; a grandson, Gary Foderberg of Overland Park, a great grandson, Joel Edward Foderberg and a great-granddaughter, Amy Linn Foderberg, both of Overland Park; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Pierce, Mason City, and Mrs.

Martha Foye, Santa Monica, Calif, His parents and his daughter, Frances Foderberg preceded him in death. Masonic services will be held at Reese-Henry Funeral home at 7:30 tonight (Thursday). The Rev. H. Allen Wirtz will officiate at the funeral and burial will be in EastSide Cemetery.

Friends may call at ReeseHenry Funeral Home until time of the funeral. Pallbearers will be Stanley Larsen, Stanley Young, Robert Wells, Kenneth Bixby, Lehman Rovn, and Lee Blum. son of Joseph Brown of rural Estherville, The Rev. Mr. Brown graduated from Estherville High School and from St.

Olaf College and then served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. He was also a Colgate-Palmolive salesman before entering Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minn, He served pastorates in Chicago, for 10 years before moving to Grace Lutheran in Fairmont, Minn. His ministry at Redeemer Lutheran will begin May 1.

The Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Brown have three children, Debbie, 13, Luther, 9, and Mark, 8. Mrs.

Brown is the former Edwyna Evenson of Boyceville, Wis. Hilmer Hanson Of Lakota Dies Tuesday LAKOTA Hilmer Hanson, 72, Lakota, died Tuesday, April 4, 1972, at a Rochester hospital following an illness of several weeks. He was born July 17, 1899, at Frost, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Hanson: He graduated from Frost High School and attended Hamilton Business College at Mason City.

He was married to Gena Maurstad Oct. 4, 1922, at Algona. He had recently retired as owner of a service station and garage at Lakota. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Murray, Phoenix, eight grandchildren; three brothers, Peter of Frost, Maynard of Rake and Oswald of Blue Earth; and a sister, Mrs.

Maynard (Ida) Mehl of Frost. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lakota, the Rev. Dennis Mueller officiating.

Friends may call after 3 p.m, Thursday at Garry Funeral Home at Bancroft and after 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
