The letter contained no particulars perhaps for the reason that Frank's sister, who wrote the letter, had received no details at the time the letter was written, concerning her brother's death. Although realizing the danger in which his brother was, Frank was naturally keenly grieved at receiving the sad news. "It I was over there, I'd go too," he said, in a voice that was kept from breaking only by a strong effort. "And now that they have started, I hope they keep it up until they finish John Brophy enlisted in the British army only a comparatively short time ago, with his brother, Tommy, both of whom went into the Scotch Fusiliers. Shaw, twice governor of Iowa and for four years secretary of the treasury, discuss the" issues that are now confronting the people of America.

Every seat in the auditorium was taken when Mr. Shaw entered the court room and many were turned away. Mr. Shaw talked for two hours, going over the record of President Wilson and the Democratic party. He is an entertaining talker and while he gave Mr.

Wilson some mighty thrusts he did it in such a nice way that no one was offended. He kept the audience in good humor all the time and ripples of laughter flitted about the audience during his entire discourse. Mr. Shaw's argument against President Wilson's policies, both foreign and Mexican, was made by illustration and parables, but he severely criticised the president from the time he landed his troops 'and marines at Vera Cruz. He accused Carranza of being a bandit and criticises the president for dealing with him, and rather upheld Huerta as being the only man capable of running Mexico, using this quotation from the son of Diaz.

Governor Shaw stated that he represented party, which is biger than any man, principle and a for the government that was based upon tariff. "The republican party Economize in Water The river is drying up; water is petting scarce; it is your patriotic duty td economize in the use of water.
