The Messrs Stephens and Ca wholesale tea dealers, Dublin, have forwarded us a sample of their tea, at two ahiliinga, in order that we might be able to pronounoe an opinion on its merits, after having tested its quality. Having done so, and obtained the verdict ofa venerable lady in our household, who has consumed many cups of the beverage in her life time, we ean now tell the public that we scarcely thought it possible that so exoellent an article could be sola at so low a figure.

The tea possesses an excellent flavour, and to produce a sufficiently strong extract, no greater quantity is required than is used of a high priced article. The large wholesale trade carried en by the Messrs Stephens, who make It a study to give a good article at a roaily small profit, is the only way in which we can account for the production of such good tea at so small a price. We have much pleasure, therefore, in directing special attention to the advertisements of Messrs rniuips and (Jo. of London, and Samuel Stephens and Co, of Dublin, two establishments whom we have tried, who we can safely say are determined to keep faith with the public, and whom we are sure the same publie will gladly favour with its custom. If other houses would imitate the example of the Messrs Stephens, and retail to tha public a really good article at a price within tha reach of tha poorest, it would tend much to improve the trad of Ireland and better the condition of tho people.

The quality of the per lb. canisters suggests grave doubts whether we have not all been the victims of extortion on the part of the princely owners of the China clippers, more particularly when their choice daHiiptions are, in the opinion of some tea connoisseurs, at least equal to the best overdrawn in silver teapot, and cheaper than infrrior sorts in toomauy famous tea houses. We have been favoured with samples, and feel bound to say that we think Mr.
