Aug 24 Beef for the feed will be furnished by Walt Thedford who is also manager and owner of the rodeo stock Cooking and preparation of the big feed will be handled by Walter Bishop chairman and several others according to Junior Walker Chamber of Commerce President FREEDOM WOODS COUNTY MCLAHOMA American Legion Rodeo Dance People who like to dance will will find plenty of room on the open air dance floor in the Legion Park Thursday Friday and Saturday nights Aug 22-23-24 Music Thursday night will be by the Western Swing Boys from Hillsdale Friday night Aug 23 Wilbur Potts and his boys from Woodward will make dance music Saturday night Aug 24 Bob Brown and his Rhythm Riders will put out some hot tunes FREEDOM CALL Several Reasons Because of the extreme heat Because of the rodeo dates slipping up on us and several other reasons beyond our control we are forced to run our annual rodeo edition in two sections This is the first with one to follow next week which will carry all latest rodeo plans and we hope pictures of the girls who are in the contest for rodeo queen Rodeo Queen A brisk sale of rodeo tickets started Monday by the qneen contestants and their sponsors The eight girls are all good lookers and are vieing for the honor of being queen at the rodeo Aug 22-23-24 Pick out your girl and buy advance tickets from either contestant or sponsor Queen contestants and moved Saturday from Morton Texas to Porta les Mr Bealmear who had been band director the past four years recently resigned from the Morton school system to accept the position of band director of the Porta les schools Mrs Bealmear had taught one year during their stay in Morton and for the past year had been assistant county school superintendent and secretary to the county judge NUMBER 44 satin bows and emerald marked the pews The bride given in marriage by her father chose a white embroidered nylon organdy over mint green taffeta with matching cummerbund and mitts of mint green for her wedding She wore a white net sweetheart hat and carried a Bible topped with an arrangement of silver centered daisies and stephanotis Mrs VaLeda Conrad attended the bride as matron of honor She
