Funeral Home in Weber City Continued From Page I Council next week will announce regulations allowing a boost in retail heating oil prices to help importers recover more fully the cost of higher-priced oil from abroad This probably will translate into a domestic price hike of 2 cents a gallon this winter The move was intended to increase imports to help meet the anticipated domestic demand for an additional 200000 to 400000 barrels of fuel oil daily this winter even without a severe winter said Charles DiBona a special White House energy consultant Even though Love predicted the United States would be importing some oil certainly from this hemisphere and probably from the Middle East after it becomes self-sufficient in three to five years the President reaffirmed his determination to resist increasing political pressures from Arab oil-producing countries The United States must be in a position so that no nation in the world has us in the position where they can cut off our oil Nixon said The President said Americans faced a short-term energy problem we do not face a crisis in that sense of the word but that long-range prospects for an adequate US energy supply were excellent and perhaps better than for any other industrialized nation After what he described as a quite spirited discussion with 15 Cabinet members and energy advisers the President reported agreement on: A sharp speedup in development of nuclear power generators Accelerated federal research on clean-burning uses of coal such as conversion to gas Development of oil reserves in the government-controlled Elk Hills naval reserve lands in California for domestic consumption Lobbying Conress for quick approval of the Alaska pipeline removal of federal price regulation of natural gas at the wellhead regulation of strip mining and legislation enabling construction of deepwater port facilities for oil tankers Diesel Shortage Continued From Page 1 A check of fuel and heating oil distributors in Eastern Tennessee showed that wholesalers are limiting their customers to buying no more fuel than they bought last year The market is tight tight as it can be said a Union 76 wholesaler Wholesalers say that they are selling all of the oil they can get and most of the time they can supply users with last years amounts but not always Sometimes we can supply 110 per cent of last years one wholesaler said But sometimes it is only 80 per cent The allocation system hurts highway contractors because the system is based on the amount of oil used last year Last year contractors agree there was so much rain that less fuel oil than normal Eloise Morelock BULLS GAP Mrs (Wloise Gardner) Morelock 57 Route 1 Bulls Gap (Robertson Creek Community) died Friday at 9:45 pm officials to get Renfro working on a section of 1-75 north of Knoxville State officials say that 1-75 work did have priority over work on the 1-81 connector but not on work on 1-81 itself The fact is state officials say Interstate work is delayed all over the state Although the 1-75 project north of Knoxville was completed last week (with the help of Renfro Construction Co the stretch of 1-75 south of Knoxville toward Georgia wont be finished this year either Renfro says it ran out of oil in Sullivan County because it had done very little work in the county before But the company had distributors who could supply it in Knox County because for the last two years the company has been working in Knox County and has fuel allocations there Meanwhile by some coincidence that no one can explain Renfros diesel fuel supplier says he will soon be able to begin supply fuel to Renfro in Sullivan County again We hope to have the 1-81 connector 75 per cent finished this year Phe-tridge Renfro comptroller said Wednesday The connector was originally scheduled to be completed this year But because diesel oil and medium grade heating oil are the same thing this winters run on could put even a greater strain on diesel oil supplies Last winter was pretty mild one wholesaler said If this year is colder Im not sure what well do A spokesman at Tillet Brothers Construction said that the companys fuel supplies are so low that the company works on a day-to-day basis We have enough fuel to last to Friday and maybe to start up our machines Monday the spokesman said I asked my wholesaler today when the next fuel was coming in He said he didnt know Tillet Brothers is grading a seven mile stretch on 1-81 in Sullivan County and another four mile stretch in Washington County July 27 Renfro Construction Company of Knoxville pulled out of work on a connector between 1-81 and Tri-City Airport when Renfros wholesaler served notice that he could supply no more diesel oil for 60 days A few weeks after Renfro pulled out Attorneys Wife Takes Own Life JOHNSON CITY Margaret Guinn 45 the wife of attorney David Guinn was pronounced dead at her home Friday afternoonf the victim of an
