It is learned that Rev Mr Sims, of Texas, who was recently called to the pastorate of the Baptist Tabernacle church, in this city, has accepted a dispatch to that effect' having been received. It will be followed by a formal letter acceptance. Mr Sims is said to be a firstrate pulpit orator, and a minister of considerable fame. He is, we believe, a native of Virginia. Disgraceful.

Oar attention has been called by several citizens to the fact that at night a crowd of idlers and lounges congregate in Moore square, much to the annoyance of ladies and gentlemen of the neighborhood. They carouse and keep up boisterous pro codings until a late hour at night, and frequently they make remarks of a derogatory character while ladies are passing. We hear that this has become intolerable to many of our people, and it should be stopped. These idlers have no right to disturb the peace of the people. We take it for granted that it will only be neces sary to call attention to the matter, and our worthy chief of police will detail force to look after it.
