THE Sierre Leone company, willing to receive into their colony fuch free blacks as are able to produce to their agents, lieutenant Clarkfon, of his majefty navy, and Mr. Lawrance Hariftorn, of Halifax, or either of them, fatisfaftory testimonials of their cha. ratten, more particularly as to the honefty, fobriety, and induftry, think it proper to notify in an explicit manner upon what terms they will receive at Sierra Leone, thofe who bring with them written certificates fcf approbation from either of the faid agents, which certificates they are hereby refpettively authorifed to grant or withhold at diferetion. It it therefore declared by the company. That every free black, upon producing fuch a certificate, (hall have a grant of not lefs than twenty acres of land for himfelf, ten for his wife, and five for every thild, upon fuch terms and fubjett to fuch charges and obligations, with a view to the general profpenty of the company, as ftall hereafter be fettled by the company, in refpett to the grants of lands to be made by them to all fettlers, whether black or white.

That for all ftores, provifions, Ac. fupphed from the companys warehoufes, the company ftall receive an equitable compcnfation, according to fixed rules, extending to the blacks and whites indiferiminately. That the civil, military, perfonal, and commercial rights and duties of blacks and whites, ftali be the fame, and fecured in the fame manner. And for the full affurance of perfonal protection from flavery to all fuch black fettlers, the company have fubjoined a copy of a claufe contained in the aft of parliament, whereby they are incorporated, viz. f.
