Maifc Rossington will become pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1011 Cleburne Road, by ri ght of an i S. Tending graves installation ceremony on Sunday, July 1 8, at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church.

A genuine Texas barbecue will be held on the church lawn following the ceremony. Rossington received a bachelor of arts in religion degree in 1985 from Christ College in Irvine, and a master of arts degree from Simon Grcenlcaf School of Law in Anaheim, in 1989. He received a master of divinity degree from Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne. Ind in 1993. Rossington served a 12-month vicarage at Hope and Hosanna Lutheran chuches in Maryville.Mo., and Tarkio, Mo.

Rev. Rossington was ordained at his home congregation in Costa Mesa, immediately after graduation from theological seminary in May. Former pastor, Mark Pepoon, has become pastor at the Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound. Trombonist Tom Burkett will present a recital on Tuesday at noon in the Concert Hall at the Chrysalis Cultural Center at the corner of Bridge and Brazos streets. trombonist for the Bluebonnet Brass Quintet.

He is well known in Granbury as a music instructor for the Granbury school system where heteaches low brass instruments and coaches two brass quintets at Granbury High School. With a bachelor's degree in music education from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Burkett 's distinguished musical background includes performing with a variety of musical groups, touring 14 countries as a musician, and managing numerous professional musical groups. Burkett started, managed, and performed with the Fort Worth Concert Band. During his tenure with the Navy Band, he performed in jazz, rock and concert bands and led the brass quintet.
