Cherry turned 99 on Dec.

13. She was one of eight children and loves to tell stories of her picking cotton as a small child and lying on her cotton sack watching the clouds go by. One story Cherry recalls is when the Titanic went down in 1912. Cherry says her mother gathered the family together and they all sang "Amazing Grace."
