Bryan Nutt officiating under direction of Rader Funeral Home, Kilgore. Mr. Joyner died March 9 in New London. He was born Oct. 6, 1920, in Wichita Falls and served in the Army during World War II.

He was an elec trician for Woodard JOYNER Electric for more than 30 years, before his retirement. He was a member of local 1BEW for more than 50 years and was a member of the First Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lydia Joyner, Leverett's Chapel; sons, Cliff Joyner, and Paul Joyner, both of Leverett's Chapel, Tommy Joyner, Houston, Dickie Joyner, Liberty City; daughter, Karen Smith, Liberty City; sisters, Willie Gibbs, Wichita Falls, Mildred Yeatts, Fort Worth; brothers, Paul Joyner, Wichita Falls, Gilbert Joyner, Bakersfkld, eight grandchildren; two great-grandchil dren; nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Mrs. Fowler died March 8 in Kemp. She was born June 30, 1921, in Kemp. She was a paper company inspector.

Julian, 50, Palestine, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey Foster Funeral Home, Palestine, with the Rev. Dale Osteen officiating.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Sonora Cemetery in Hunt County with the Rev, David Fortenbury officiating. Mr. Julian died March 9 in a Palestine hospital. He was born Oct 8, 1952, in Dallas to Alvie Ray and Mary Lou Adams Julian.

He was a sixth grade teacher at Westwood Elementary for two years. He was a member and minister of music at First Baptist Church, Buffalo. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Darlene Julian, Palestine; -daughter Deanna JulianrHousroh; sons, Daniel Julian, Abilene, and David Julian, Palestine; parents, Ray and Mary Lou Julian, Sulphur Springs; brothers, Don Julian, Waco, and Randy Julian, Colorado Springs, Colo. He was bom March 6, 1924, in Minden, was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, owner of Henry Welch Auto Sales for 4 1 years and a rancher. He served in the Navy during World War 0 and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Edith Welch, Henderson; son, Dewie Welch Henderson; daughter, Sylvia Bradford, Cypress; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 16, 1914, in Galveston to Sidney and Mattie McKneely and lived in Mineola since 1935. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mineola, owner of Shoemaker Nursery and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Shoemaker, daughter, Joyce Elayne Shoemaker, brothers, Fred Leighton McKneely, Floyd McKneely and Crowell McKneely. Survivors include her sons, Larry Shoemaker, Gainesville, John Shoemaker, Centerpoint; daughter, Tommie Cosby, Mineola; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Flournoy died March 8 in a Lufkin hospital. She was born July 15, 1921, in Angelina County to Jim B. and Ola Lee Crawford and lived in Hudson for 10 years. She was a. self-employed beautician for 35 years and a member of St.

Paul's United Methodist Church, Lufkin. Survivors include her son, Joe Robinson, College Station; sister; Vrrgie two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Wednesday at Bailey Foster Funeral Home, Palestine, with Elder David Godair officiating. Burial will be in Palestine City Cemetery. Mr. Girardo died March 8 in a Pasadena hospital. He was born July 8, 1 956 in Fort Belvior, to Charles and Shirley Talent Girardo.

He was a veteran of the Army and employed as a commercial air-conditioning mechanic. Survivors include his parents, Charles and Shirley Girardo, Palestine; sister, Roxanne Godair, Palestine; brothers, Johnny Girardo, Lufkin, and Girardo, Palestine. Boyd died March 9 in Nacogdoches. She was bom Sept. 181913, in Alto to J.E. and Elma Pyle Scales. She had lived in Alto for 30 years, after retiring as an elementary schoolteacher in Houston for 33 years.

She was a member of. Old Palestine Baptist Church, where she served as pianist for 25 years and as a Sunday school teacher. She was a former member of Alto Thursday Study Club and was preceded in death by her husbands, J.R. Acrey and J.C. Boyd.

She was bom June 13, 1919, in Nacogdoches to Giles and Nettie Mae Strahan Driver. She was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Texas City and was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Daniely. Mrs. Coones died March 9 in a Tyler hospital. She was born Aug. 25, 1917, in Hillsboro to Charles and Catherine Beatrice Williams Higgingbotham. She lived most of her life in San Antonio, before moving to Lake Palestine in 1996.

She was a member of St. Lawrence'; Catholic Church, San Antonio, and retired, from Fort Sam Houston Bank in 1983. She. was preceded in death by her husbands, Fritz Ahrens and Paul Coones, son, Charles Ahrens and brother, W.H.AUsup. Survivors include her daughters, Evelyn Williams, Lake Palestine, and Mary Ann Campbell, Florissant, Tommy Allsup, Bay City; six grandchildren; and 1 2 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Lacy died March 8 in a Tyler hospice. He was born April 25, 1914, in Heber Springs, to William Henry and Grade Disbennett Lacy. He was a retired Texas and Pacific Railroad conductor and a member of Lake Country Bible Church. His wife of 63 years, Lorene Padgett Lacy, and son, Steve M.

Lacy, preceded him in death. Survivors include his son, Craig Lacy, Mineola; two grandsons; nieces and nephews. Stephens died March 10 in Tyler. He was born Feb. 9, 1945, in Ben Wheeler. Formerly of Chandler and Tyler, he" had been a resident of Frankston since November, 1977. He was a truck driver for 17 years and owned and operated Bobby's Automotive Machine Shop for 1 8 years.

He was also a Methodist and graduated from Van High School in 1963. He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Stephens; sister, Margaret Bradford; and brother-in-law, Truett Bradford. Survivors include his Martha Stephens, Frankston; sons, Greg Stephens, Chicago, 111., Hank Stephens, Palestine, Billy Meazell II, Nacogdoches, and Steven Meazell, Neches; daughter, Charlotte Armstrong, Neches; mother, Jimmie Stephens; brother, J. Allen Stephens, Frankston; 13 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mike Jorden, Jim Norris, Butch Hefelfinger, Joel Johnson, Gene Williams, and Henry Parker.

Miller died Sunday at Hospice HomePlace in Tyler. He was born March 19; 1920, in Palestine to Charles (5. Miller Jr. and Emily Ester Cutter Miller. Mr.

Miller graduated from Palestine High School in 1937 and from Texas in 1941. He was a petroleum engineer for Getty Oil Company for 41 years. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Mr. Miller was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mr.

Miller was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jean McKeehan Miller Feb. 25. 2003, and a brother Jack Oliver Miller. He is survived by two daughters, Dinah Miller of Dallas and Dixie DuPree of St Louis, and four grandchildren, Rebecca Davison and Julia DuPree of Indianapolis, Rosie Miller and Pepper Miller of Dallas. Pallbearers will be Thomas Lee, Chad Lee, Don McKeehan, Kelley Vannatta, Davis Dickson and Marvin McKeehan.

Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel with Mike Warner officiating. Burial will be in Cathedral in the Pines under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler. Mr. Fields died March 8, 2003, in Tyler. W.A."Bill" Fields was born Nov.

4, 1906, in LaFayette, to Lawrence and Mary Fields. The family moved to Houston, where Bill completed his elementary and secondary education. He graduated from Rice Institute on June 10, 1929, with a degree in mechanical engineering. He played trombone in the Rice Band. Upon graduation.

Bill went to work for When World War II broke out Bill served in the European Theatre as a communication officer, achieving the rank of captain. After the war. Bill returned to work for the phone company. He met Vivian Burson in Houston and they were married on Oct. 16, 1948.

Bill was transferred to Austin, where they lived until retirement from Southwestern Bell. They moved to Tyler in 1971 to be near family. Bill was a faithful member of Shiloh Road Church of Christ for more than 1 6 years. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Vivian Fields of Tyler, sister, Vesta Hill of Houston, and numerous nieces and nephews. i Pallbearers will be Darrell Beard, Tommy Parrish, John Montgomery, James Barton, Jim Beard and David Montgomery.

She was bom Jan. 3. 1921, in New Brockton, and lived in Tyler since 1957. Mrs. Hicks retired in 1991 from Smith County, after serving as justice of the peace for Precinct 1 for 22 years.

She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Tyler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Hicks in 1968. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Stephen Westmoreland of Tyler, and Betty and Bill You Need A Pharmacist Who Cares, Too.
