Kilgore Rites Saturday For 'Buster' Dickerson KILGORE Services for E.K "Buster" Dickerson, 81Kilgore, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Rader Funeral Home chapel, Kilgore, with Elder Dwight Herd officiating.

Burial will be in Kilgore Cemetery. Mr. Dickerson died Sept. 12 in Kilgore. He was born July 18, 1920, in Kilgore and graduated from Kilgore High School.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member St. Luke's United Methodist Church. He owned and operated Hydraulic Pipe Pulling and after retiring owned and operated Kilgore Health Food Store, lie was active in the Rotary, serving ajj past president of Kilgore Rotary Club, past district governor of Rotary District 5830, district chairman of Rotary Foundation for many years, served on council of governors, a Paul Harris Fellow and recipient of many Rotary awards. Melvin Harrell officiating, under direction of Beaty Funeral Home, Winnsboro. Mr. Durbin died Sept. 12 in Winnsboro. He was born March 13, 1973, in Tyler.

Mr. Cates died Sept. 12 in a Lufkin hospital. He was born April 7, 1910, in Clawson to the late George Madison and Cornelia Edwards Cates. Ho was a lifelong resident of Clawson and Angelina County.

He retired as- an oiler from Southland Paper Mill after 24 years service, and was a member and deacon of Memorial Baptist, Church. In June 1947, he was ordained as a deacon in Clawson Baptist Church, He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Adell Gates on March 4, 1988; son, Donny Cates; grandson, Billy Joe Cates; and granddaughter, Beverly Annette Cates. Survivors include sons, Charles Douglas Cates and Bobby Cates, both of Lufkin, Billy R. Gates, Claw- son, Glnndon- Cates, Baytown, and James Taylor Gates, Nacogdoches; sister, Ruby Selman, Texas City; brother, Thomas Ray Cates, Lufkin; special friend, Evelyn Forrest; Lufkin; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mr. Wilson died Sept. 12, 2001, in a local hospital. He was born June 3, 1 91 4, in Huntsville, and lived at Emerald Bay for 26 years. He graduated from Huntsville High School in Alabama and attended Auburn University.

Before his retirement in 1974, after 38 years with American Airlines, he was manager of Operational Procedures at American Airlines headquarters in New York. Hugh was an avid golfer and scored five holes-in-one. He was preceded in death by son, Hugh Wilson Jr. Survivors include his wife, Stella V. Wilson of Emerald Bay; son, Bruce Wilson and wife Susan of Arlington; daughter, Jeanne Hurt and husband Rick of, Bedford; granddaughters, Robyn Landers, Jaime Cate, Amanda Wilson and Emily Wilson; grandson, Elliot Wilson; great-grandson; Brady Landers; brother, Frank Wilsqn of Huntsville, many nieces and nephews.

9 in Tyler. She was bom April 4, 1912, in Homer, and attended public-schools in Louisiana. She lived in Smith FIELDS County for 56 years and was a domestic worker and dormitory matron. She was a member of Greater Hopewell Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess, chairman of Decoration Committee, and past president and past treasurer of Mission Society. Freddie Mae Wilson Services for Freddie Mae "Sister" Wilson, 74, Tyler, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at New Zion Baptist Church of Winona with Dr. S.L. Curry officiating. Burial will be in Kay Cemetery, Winona, under direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler.

Mrs. Wilson died Sept. 10 in a Tyler hospice. She was Dec. 9, 1926, in Blooming.

Grove and attended Blooming Grove public schools. She-lived in Winona before moving to' Tyler 15 years ago. She was a laborer and member of New Zion Baptist she served on Usher Board and in Missionary Society, and Heroines of Jericho. She was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. Survivors include sons, Robert Wilson, Tyler, and Claudell "C.J." Wilson, Fairfield; Claudett Wilson Hardisty, Tyler; sis-ter; Kattie Fisher, Malakoff; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

12 at her residence. She was born Aug. in Anderson County to the late Eddie Chapman and Rosa Lee Wallace Huffman, and lived in Anderson County most of her life. She graduated from Palestine High School in 1931 and, during World War II, worked as dispatcher fo'r the railroad in Palestine and San Antonio. She worked for J.C.

Penney Co. lor many years, and later was a 1'BX operator with Missouri Pacific Railroad. She was a member of North Jackson Baptist Church, and a volunteer with the special education department of the schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Clifton Chandler; brother, Lawrence Huffman; and sister, Navana Ritchey. Survivors include son, Dana Ray Chandler, Palestine; brother, Howard Huffman, Palestine; -sisters, Drucilla Darwin, Marie Mack and Bet tie Joolloefling, alj of Palestine; nieces and nephews.

Burial will' be in Evergreen Memorial Park under direction of Brooks-Sterling Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler. Mr. Bell died Sept. 12 in Tyler. He was born March 25, 1924, in Tyler and was a livelong resident.

He attended Tyleif public schools, served in the Navy and was a retired custodian. He Was a member of Dale Chapel Baptist Church, where he served, as superintendent of Sunday school, and a member of American Legion. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Ermia J. Bell, Tyler; son, Clarence Willie Bell, Tyler; daughters, Rosie Bell, Diane Campbell and.

Mary Ajaba, all of Tyler; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Friday at the funeral home. Bobbe Springer GRAPELAND Graveside services for Bobbie Lou Springer, 50, Grapeland, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday at Guiceland Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Caskey officiating, under direction of Bailey Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. Mrs.

Springer died Sept. 12 in a Tyler hospital. She was born Aug. 10, 1951, in Palestine to Walter Louis and Veiva Franklin -Caskey. She worked as a cook at Pitt Grill and was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Louis Caskey. Ola Mathews LUFKIN Graveside services for Ola Mathews, 83, Lufkin, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Whitehouse Cemetery with Pastor Vasilly Osadchuck officiating, under direction of Gipson-Mctcajf Funeral Directors, Lufkin. Mrs. Matthews died Sept. 12 in a Lufkin nursing home.

She was born June 22, 1918, in Rockdale to the late Vaughn and Ethel Russell Crow. She lived in Lufkin since 1943 and was a homemaker and member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include her husband, Everett W. Mathews, Lufkin; son, Doug Hoover, Lufkin; daughter, Carta Giles, Austin; four grandchildren; one- great-grandchild; nieces -and nephews. r.

V. Clyde Gilbert Services for Clyde Gilbert, 69, Van, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Hilliard Funeral Home Chapel with Brother H. Gay Weaver officiating.

Burial will be in Marvin Chapel Cemetery under direction of Hilliard Funeral Home of Van. Mr. Gilbert died Sept. 1 3, 2001 in a Tyler hospital. He was born April 27, 1932, in Ben Wheeler and was a lifelong resident of Van Zandt County.

He served in the U.S. Army Military Police. He worked for Sunbeam Bakery and retired after 33 years of service. He was also a rancher, and a member of Friendly Center Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Gilbert of Van; one son, Clay Gilbert and wife Pat of Bryan; thfee daughters, Donna Marie Gilbert of Ben Wheeler, Debra Rutledge and husband Tim of Lindale, and Linda Bennett and fciusband Allan of Tatum; and five grandchildren Chris Gilbert, Jennifer Brooks, Robyn Foster, Taylor Foster and Tyler Rutledge.

Pallbearers are Randall Preston, Brad Preston, Paul Gilchrist Bodie Gilchrist, Nicky Brockway and Jim Gilbert. Honorary pallbearers are Eric Mallory, Dick Fowler, Bill Hard-wick, Ronnie Nails, Gerald Gilbert, Kenneth Atteberry and Therlon Brittin. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. 6, 2001, at her home in San Antonio, Texas. On Sept. 8, there was a celebration of her life at St. Helena Catholic by Msgr. Wil Krieger.

She was born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico on Dec. 10, 1 9 1 4. The oldest of twelve children, she was the daughter of Francisco N. Garcia, well known banker from northern Mexico and Emilia Bres de Garcia. She attended Our Lady of the Lake College as a boarder from the age of eleven, completing secondary, preparatory school, and eventually her bachelor of music degree with major in piano performance.

She taught music for 15 years in the public scnooi system and taught private piano to hundreds of students for thirty rive years, including her daughter, faculty member at lexas bouthmost College. Her husband Ralph and sons Rafael Ramon and Claudio Mario preceded Mrs.

Garcia in death.
