Mrs. Spencer is a native of Del Rio. She was born here Nov. 3, 1885, the daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Marion Pafford.

Her grandfather, Randolph Pafford, was.one of the early pioneers who set up the irrigation system for farming. Mrs. Spencer resides at 108 E. 2nd St. She was reared here, attended the local schools and graduated from Del Rio High School "after studying under Wet Stuff Professor T.C.

Hickman." She "is blessed with good health" and to: mark her birthday she walked from her home on East Second Street downtown, visited the stores and returned home for lunch. "I'm happy to have had such a good day for my birthday," Mrs. Spencer said, "and I'm ready to begin on the next 86 years here."
