a concert at 730 pm Saturday at Memorial Gym East Tennessee State University Because of the time factor tickets to the concert which are free should be picked up in person at the Johnson City Press-Chromcle or at the ROTC Department ETSU The newspaper and ROTC are sponsoring the Airmen of Note appearance If free why tickets' Because ticket holders will be seated first and they should be their seats by 7 15 If there are any other seats available at that time others will then be seated More than 2000 tickets have been issued to Upper East Tennesseans to date The Airmen of Note will present a two-hour concert with the band" sound so revered by many people One of their numbers is Salute to Glenn Miller" an indication of some of the music they play And the Airmen of Note actually served as the Glenn Miller Band in the movie Glenn Miller Story" featuring Jimmy Now open The southern portion of the Erwin Bypass State Route 137 was opened last week The three-mile segment is from governor three candidates for any appellate court vacamcy from which the govern xr would choose a judge Then after -serving at least two years the appellate judge would stand a no-opponent election at which the voters could decide only whether to keep the jurist in office or reject him Earlier the committee approved selection of the state attorney general by the governor get rid of whaP-fawyers have called a hodge-podge of courts which have developed over the years and require that state courts be the same in all counties The change would not be effective until present terms expire 1982 Superior courts under the proposal would replace the present Chancery Circuit and Criminal courts in Tennessee but could include divisions that have the same jurisdiction as NASHVILLE (AP) The Constitutional Convention committee trying to revise the slate court system appears ready to endorse a proposal to establish a uniform system of Superior Courts in Tennessee Preliminary votes on Tennessee trial court judges for eight year terms basically unchanged from the present Constitution But filling of vacancies by the governor would be restricted somewhat by a requirement that
