for such Christian lives; they are the inspiration to others who are endeavoring to run the race set before them. May the blessings of God ever abide upon the stricken ones and bring them to the better world above, where they may say: ''Joy, joy, forever, My task is done, The gates are passed, And Heaven is II. M. JACKSON. LAWS.

Lizzie Laws was born in Orange County, April 10. 1881. When a girl fifteen years old she gave herself to God, joined the M. E. Church, South, and lived a consecrated Christian.

For some years her health was poor, and last summer she had a severe illness which brought her down to death's very door, but she did not fear or draw back, for she knew whom she had believed and was persuaded that He was able to keep thai which she had committed unto Him. But God gave her a new Tease on life, and with the approach ef fall she began to prepare to go to Trinity Park School. Her sisters did not approve of her going, for (bey did not think her health and strength equal to the work, but she wanted to prepare herself for greater usefulness and felt if she died there she would die satisfied. She was vetting on nicely until November 17th, when, without any warning, she was stricken with paralysis. She was not able to speak after she was taken, but gave her loved ones to understand that all was well.

Monday night, four days after she was taken, fell on sleep and awoke in eternity. Her remains were interred in the cemetery at Little River Church in Orange County, surrounded by a host of loved ones and friends. Miss Lizzie will be greatly missed by us all, and while we mourn her loss, we are not as those without hope, for her pure life was such a life that will live forever. May God richly bless her father, sisters and other loved ones, and help them to be faithful till the end, as she was. N.

Alford, died at her home in Franklin County, on November 14, 1904, after a short but-severe illness. To the bereaved ones the writer extends his sympathy. PASTOR. BEST. Miss Sallie Lou Best, who had been active in church, Sunday-school and mission work for a long number of years, departed this life November 14, 1904, after a long, tedious and painful illness, at the age of 27 years.

There is a vacant chair at home and a deeply felt vacancy among the workers of Shiloh Church. Youngsville Circuit. "She was never known in childhood, youth or womanhood to deviate in the least from strict veracity and filial obedience." When such a character leaves this world heaven seems to drop nearer and its ties become stronger and sweeter. Should we grieve at a translation so resplendent? Could we see beyond the veil, doubtless the mourning of her loved ones would be turned into joy, as they beheld her, infinitely hapr.v, with extended hand, entreating them to fill her place in church and community. Sympatheticallv, PASTOR.

SWINDELL. Sister Julietta Swindell, wife of F. W. Swindell, was born August 18, 1850, and after a short illness, died in Belhaven, N. where she had lived for the past few years, May 3, 1904.

She leaves a husband and two daughters, Mrs. Jas. Cone and Miss Amie Swindell, to mourn the loss of a wife and mother. She embraced religion and joined the" Methodist Church while in young womanhood, in Hyde County, N. and was true to all the claims of the Christian Hfe and to those the church of her choice made of her.

The impress of her godly life is seen in the Christian character of her two daughters she has left behind. She was a faithful and joyous participant in all the work of the church. Truly she was a good woman, leading a life, following which one would walk in this world like a child of God should walk. There were no uncertainties in her experiences she knew Him whom sho believed. Wo thnnk Cod LET US SHOW YOU WHAT THE FULL MEANING OP BARGAIN-GIVING MEANS IN Resolutions of Respect.
