in as good condition as possible Matt Jackson, who is perhaps the oldest colored veteran of the Civil war living in Bourbon County, was down town yesterday observing Decoration Day, attended In his uniform of blue. He wore tne regulation flat-topped cap of civil war days. This cap, he explained, did not go through the war with him, but was purchased by him, instead, at Liepman's, just 40 years ago yesterday. Jackson, who is now 76 vears of age, enlisted as a lad in Company of the 100th United States Colored Infantry, and fought through the war. He received his baptism of fire a few weeks after enlisting.
