link with the days when the New Yankees were a legend of power crashed the embattled Bronx Bombers back into the World Series two games to one Saturday when he drove in all the runs In a 4-0 victory through the airways and the fifth was set up with a 65-yard pass play that put the ball on the Southeastern one-yard line en suspenseful innings Larsen didn't match his historymaking no-hitter of 1956 because the recuperating arm which pitched a full game in three months tired and flame-throwing Ryne Dur-en had to come on in the eighth to close it out But record breaking bat out three of the four Yankee hits and running his consecutive World Series hitting streak to 17 straight spelled the difference as the Yankees In eg the defeat on veteran Bob Rush before a roaring crowd of 71599 this warm home Duren came on with the fastest and wildest pitch In baseball to turn back those Braves without a hit Bauer started the day on a hopeful note for the Yankees In the very first Inning when he led off with a single for the third straight game beating out a hit to deep short to keep his record streak alive But as Tony Kubek went down swinging Del Crandall whipped the hall to Frank Torre on first
