Respiratory Tests Monday At Civic Center The Albany County Tuberculosis Respiratory Disease Association, in cooperation with the Watervliet Civic Center, will conduct a pulmonary functional tests, for Watervliet residents. The tests, which will include a lung test for emphysema and bronchitis will be conducted from 1 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Mon day, Dec. 16, at the Civic Center. Persons 38 years of age and up have been urged to take this test which is generally not given lo anyone younger.

auuii. giuujia. Man Sentenced For Welfare Fund Abuse AUBURN, N.Y, (AP)-Joseph J. Mendzek 25, of Auburn, was sentenced Friday to serve 17 days in Cayuga County jail for misusing welfare funds provided him under the aid to dependent children program. Police accused Mendzek of losing the money gambling.

Averill Park Firemen Put Out Slight Fire The Averill Park Fire Department dispatched two pump- ers and its rescue squad at 8:30 a.m. Friday to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Warner and family on Miller Hill Road when fire damaged a motor on a wa- ler pump in the basement. Fire Chief Arthur Ferguson said that the only equipment used by firemen was a smoke ejector as there was considerable smoke in the house from the minor fire.
